That morning I woke up on my own accord.
The sun was shining bright in my face. For once I actually felt comfortable and didn't want to wake up. I moved around a bit closer to that source of comfort. My head lay against something soft and I moved my arm to wrap it around whatever I was laying on.
I squeezed it a bit shoving my face into the heat.
After enjoying the coziness a little longer I groggily forced my eyes open. All I could see was pitch black. My face was pushed into something soft and my brain was still registering the situation.
I moved my head back from the object and tried to blink the sleepiness away. When my eyes settled they landed on that same darkness again. However, this time I could see more than black. There was gold as well.
There was movement underneath me and I felt something grip my waist.
I squirmed around a bit in my spot but something was holding me tightly.
Giving up I decided to look and see what exactly was preventing me from moving. As my eyes scanned upward, my heart almost dropped from my chest.
The one holding me in a death grip was none other than Capitano.
I could feel my heart going a mile a minute. If I wasn't awake previously, I sure was now.
Capitano must have been sound asleep because he didn't say anything about me staring surprisingly at him. I could also feel his chest slowly heave up and down.
Not only was Capitano's arm around me but my arm was also on him.
Sure I had slept with Capitano once before but never this closely. Nor had we been this touchy either.
My heart felt as if it were going to explode at any moment and I couldn't help but wonder how Capitano would react upon seeing our current situation.
Good lord... he was so so attractive and being wrapped up in his arms wasn't helping.
Too bad I couldn't see his peaceful face beyond the mask. As tempting as it was to take a peek, I wouldn't do that. He was covering his face for a reason and I wouldn't break his trust to try and find out. Plus he'd probably catch my hand before it even neared his face.
With that in mind I let my head fall back into his chest.
If Capitano wasn't up yet, I didn't need to be up yet either.
Some more time had passed before Capitano finally awoke. In truth, I hadn't been able to fall asleep again but I was definitely taking advantage of the situation, enjoying every second of it.
I kept my eyes closed pretending to still be asleep.
Capitano's hand moved and I cracked an eye open to see what he was doing.
His hand around my waist remained there for a moment before he removed it. He looked at his hand for a second and then back down at my waist.
A heavy sigh left his lips and unexpectedly his now free hand brushed lightly through my hair.
My eyes closed from instinct and I didn't dare move. It was only a few strokes but my whole body felt like it was on fire.
Capitanos inhaled a deep breath.
I could feel the disappointment sink in as his hand left my hair.
Pretending to stir awake a few minutes later from the contact, I opened my eyes and tilted my head to look at Capitano.
His head moved to look back down at me and I blinked a few times staring back in fake confusion.
I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face.
"Good morning." Capitano said his hands falling to his sides unsure of where they should be.
I couldn't contain myself and let some of the excitement leak, "Good morning!"
I immediately put a hand over my mouth acting as if my words would somehow be unsaid.
Capitano let out a rough chuckle.
Even with our 'surprise' no one moved.
"You're a very comfortable pillow." I said trying to suppress my smile.
Capitano huffed and shook his head, "You are too straightforward sometimes."
It didn't sound like he was complaining though. I let out another giggle at the thought.
"Hey, it's been a bit since I last had that good of a sleep! You know... maybe sleeping out here isn't so bad..."
Capitano shook his head and his hand wrapped around my waist once more.
I took in a huge breath and my body stiffened at the contact.
Capitano took the chance to flip me over and off of him.
My body lightly hit the ground with a thump and he looked over at me as he sat up. I stared up at him bug eyed as my hair laid spread out on the ground.
"As comfy as last night was, its time to return to business. We should be finding the agents today."
All I could do was unconsciously nodded my head at his words.
My mind was spinning and I couldn't believe how gently yet quick he had pushed me onto the cave floor.
