The two of us stayed up a bit longer before deciding to call it a night.
Scaramouche didn't seem as bitter toward me now that I had exposed the Doctor who was watching us in 'secret'.
We slept through the night until morning.
Scaramouche was up before I was. He seemed to be getting ready as I rubbed my eyes and streched out in the bed.
"Come on. We should get moving." Scaramouches voice was still cold but it didn't seem to hold that same malice.
I nodded my head, pushing the blankets off before getting up out of bed.
"Does that mean we're heading to Sumeru today?" I asked making my bed.
"Yes. We will but first theres something I'd like to deal with."
He said those words with bitterness.
I had a feeling I knew what that meant but decided to leave it at that.
I'm sure I'd see exactly what he meant in no time.
The two of us left the inn after saying goodbye to the inn keeper.
Scaramouche didnt speak as we headed toward our first destination.
Originally, I had suspected we were heading back to the palace but we weren't. Instead we were going in the opposite direction.
Now I had no idea what Scaramouche was planning.
We walked and walked till we eventually were no longer in the city.
Curiosity was starting to get the better of me but I dared not ask. Scaramouche didn't seem to hate me as much as he did before so I didn't want to get on his nerves anymore.
Plus he seemed fairly focused on wherever we were going.
So with that in mind I followed behind him silently.
It didn't take long before we found ourselves in an open clearing. Scaramouche stopped just a bit ahead of me before scanning the area.
I wouldn't lie, my heart rate had steadily increased.
Why were we out in some random clearing? Was he going to get rid of me before the trip to Sumeru?
I finally decided it was time to speak up.
"Scaramouche what are we doing here?"
His eyes still seemed to be looking.
"Shush," he hushed me.
I rose an eyebrow in question but kept my mouth shut.
After a moment his eyes sharpened and his attention locked on somewhere.
