We had only been walking for about an hour now and I was already starting to lose my pace.

I had not been expecting that we were going to spend this whole trip walking, but now that I was thinking about it I should have known better. Of course we were walking. What else would we use? Cars? Motorcycles?

Well maybe, but in all seriousness, Capitano didn't come across as someone who needed to be escorted around in fancy vehicles.

"So how long will it take us to reach the last known location?"

Capitano trudged through the snow his stride never breaking.

"It will be approximately three days on foot and even then theres no guarantee we'll find the device. At most we'll find some clues to its next location."

"So what kind of device is this anyway?"

Capitano sighed at my question.

"Unfortunately I too have no information. It seems whatever it is, its dangerous and could have bad consequences if left in the wrong hands."

It was my turn to sigh.

It didn't surprise me how secretive the Tsaritsa was. Maybe she was worried if we knew what it was we'd take it and run off. Well I doubt Capitano would but no promises for myself.

"So what do you think would happen if we did activate it."

Capitano glanced in my direction this time.

Though I couldn't see his expression I still felt a shiver run up my spine.

"Hey hey I didn't mean it like that," I rose my hands in defence, "I meant it as what do you think would happen?"

Capitano shrugged, "I'm not sure yet. We only have a brief description so until we actually see it, it will be hard to determine that."

My eyes lit up, "Oh really?? What does it look like?"

The papers hadn't said anything unless I had missed it.

"Its a small purple box." Capitano answered, "There should be some engravings on the top of it with a small white button on the front side."

"Oh wow okay well that's useful." I replied.

I guess it wouldn't do me much good to look for something if I had no idea what it looked like.

"Oh and in two days we'll reunite with the agents who had been tailing the abyss previously. Any information they have should help us in our search."

I nodded my head in agreement.

If they had been following they must have had some sort of useful information.

The two of us walked a little more before I stopped.

"Can we take a short break?"

Capitano stopped and looked back at me. Nodding his head he scanned the area before motioning toward some rocks.

I followed after him and took a seat on one of the rocks. Capitano sat beside me. I took the bag off my back and opened it up to grab some of the water.

Once I had downed some of it I let out a breath of relief.

"Does she usually send you out on hunts like these?" I asked curiosity getting the better of me.

Capitano nodded his head, "Its not uncommon. I do have my own personal missions to take care of, but I also take these on as well."

"So does every Harbinger have to take missions from her."

"Yes," He replied, "Though some take their time. Everyone has their own agendas, but in the end we're all here for a reason. Even some of my more unhinged colleagues have some form of respect for her majesty."

"Thats surprising. I figured people like Dottore were completely here for their own interests."

Capitano shrugged again,  "I'm not him so I cannot speak for his motivations, but as long as he acts in her favour she has no issue with him."

He continued, "I'm surprised at how calm you are considering the situation you've found yourself in. Do you truly remember nothing?"

I felt a shiver run down my spine.

"Well thats probably why I'm so calm. I don't remember much so really I have no reason to freak out. I mean sure getting stuck with the fatui isn't ideal, but I don't know." I replied.

There wasn't much of a reason to worry. There was no way anyone could find or see me now. I wasn't even sure how I ended up here in the first place nor how I would even leave if I wanted to.

"Are you not concerned about family?" He asked.

"Oh yea I guess theres that. I definitely have a family I just don't remember where they are. I'm sure once I remember more I might make a break for it again."

Capitano laughed softly, "Then I will pretend you slipped away in the night."

I blinked a few times and then looked up at him.

"Wait really?"

Capitano did not answer and I felt my heart flutter.

Maybe he was a good man...

"So should we get back to walking?" I asked allowing his comment to disappear with the wind.

Capitano huffed and stood up from his spot.

"Lets continue on."
