Capitano had come back not too long after with 'dinner'.
Which turned out be a massive deer.
I wasn't going to argue or complain for that matter. I was more impressed that he had managed to find anything in this weather let alone catch it.
I was relieved though. We hadn't brought that much with us food wise so it was reassuring to know if we were stuck in the cold we wouldn't starve.
The meat was a lot tougher than I was used to and a bit dry, but it wasn't that bad.
It was getting darker now and we had an early start tomorrow. So for now it was time to call it a night.
I laid on the hard ground snuggling into my coat to try and get comfortable. Unfortunately, my powers couldn't exactly make the cave floor less hard. It wasn't exactly my usual sleeping spot.
Capitano didn't seem all that bothered by it. He laid on his back looking up at the cave ceiling. One hand he used as a pillow the other he rested on his chest.
I laid on my side now but I never seemed to get quite comfy. One minute I was on my back the next I was rolling to another side.
"Is there a trick to this..." I whispered more to myself.
"Stop moving is the first step." Capitano mumbled.
I looked over at him. He titled his head so he was looking in my direction.
"But the ground is so hard." I replied.
"Well the more you move the harder it'll be to sleep."
I huffed and sat up. I must have been laying on a rock or something because I could feel little pebbles poking my legs.
"Is it comfier over there?" I asked making my way toward him.
Capitano turned his head a bit, "I suppose."
I laid down right beside him this time on my back.
"This isn't as bad as over there." I mumbled.
At least there were no more rocks stabbing me.
"Goodnight Y/N."
I laughed a bit.
He was tired of my shenanigans.
"Goodnight Capitano."
I closed my eyes and tried my best to get comfy for the night.
I moved around a bit more in the night, but eventually I had fallen asleep.
Something was shuffling around me and I held onto the pillow that I had been using a bit tighter. I kept my eyes closed enjoying the warmth I was feeling.
"Y/N."
I hummed in response not really awake, but not totally asleep either.
"Y/N its time for us to get ready."
I shuffled around snuggling into the pillow with my head pressed up against it.
"Mm no... thanks..." I mumbled.
There was a sigh, "Y/N I can't feel my arm."
I woke up a little more at the comment.
Who was even speaking to me... and so what if they couldn't feel their arm...?
The pillow I was holding onto moved a bit in my arms and thats when I began to remember.
I had fallen asleep on a cave floor.
What pillow?
My eyes opened up quickly at the thought and my heart started pounding.
I looked down and noticed I was clinging tightly to someone elses arm.
My head shot up and I suddenly remembered the man I had been travelling with.
I must have rolled around last night and somehow ended up using his arm as a pillow. No wonder I had such a good sleep. His arm like the rest of him was big which meant lots of room for sleeping...
He let out a chuckle, "Good morning."
"I'm so sorry!" I apologized letting go of his arm and wiping some drool from my lips.
Capitano nodded, "Its alright. I don't mind. I wouldn't have disturbed you but we need to get going now."
My heart was racing too quickly in my chest and I could feel the heat rising up to my cheeks.
It wasn't sure if my heart was racing because it had scared the life out of me or because his arm had been comfy to snuggle with... or that he had just said he didn't mind.
Thinking about it only caused my cheeks to flare up even more.
"Im sorry again I didn't realize I had done that. Though I did have a good sleep..." I said laughing a little.
"Thats good," He replied, "I'm just surprised my arm was that comfortable."
I nodded my head and the two of us sat in a moment of brief silence.
How do you even respond to something like that?
Using the first Harbinger as a pillow wasn't exactly normal behaviour or something you saw everyday for that matter.
"Er should we get going?" I finally spoke up.
Capitano slowly nodded his head and stood up off the ground.
"Yes..." He cleared his throat regaining his composure, "We have another long day ahead of us."
I got up off the ground and dusted myself off.
"Lets keep going then. The sooner the better."
He nodded his head in agreement before turning and heading for the cave entrance.
I followed on after him yet for some reason my heart was still throbbing.
