After our brief sparing match Capitano had decided it was best to find a place to camp out for the night. We had found ourselves another cave but unfortunately unlike the last one you could really feel the cold air drafting in.

I stayed close by the fire Capitano had put together and used that little trick he had taught me to warm myself up. The combination was thankfully keeping me from feeling the winds effects.

The only thing that sucked about this cave was the ground. It was a lot more bumpy than the last one which meant I probably wasn't going to get a good rest tonight.

I let out a sigh brushing my gloved hand against some of the rocks. Sadly, we didn't really have many options either. The snow got really bad at night and neither of us wanted to be stuck out there.

Earlier Capitano had found us another deer. I was still getting used to the strange texture but at least it was food. I couldn't complain.

Now that we were all settled, it was probably time to call it a night.

As we sat in silence Capitano looked over his sword.

"What are you looking for?" I asked curiously.

"Nothing specific," He answered, "I'm only ensuring its in good condition."

I nodded my head in understanding.

As I sat here with him I recalled our encounter earlier.

That had really sent my heart racing and even though I now realized I was most definitely attracted to him. I also realized I didn't know much about him either.

Like the rest of the harbingers he was a mystery. I didn't know much about his background or identity. Unfortunately, before I had the chance to learn anything about most of the harbingers I was sucked into Genshin itself.

That meant the only way I would get information was by asking...

"Capitano." I called out to him.

He looked up from his sword.

His gaze made me rethink for a moment.

"Er well I just sort of realized I don't know much about you. We've been travelling together for a bit now and I haven't even thought to ask."

Capitano was silent for a moment.

"What would you like to know?"

I blinked a few times, "Wait really?"

He nodded, "You are correct. The two of us will be journeying together for some time. It would be good to know each other."

I smiled in return before asking, "Well for starters... where did you come from? Whats your home nation?"

"I hail from a nation no longer of this world. One that was destroyed by Celestia."

My heart stopped in my chest, "Khanrieah?"

Capitano slowly nodded.

I could feel a shiver run down my spine.

For some reason I wasn't all that surprised. Those who followed the Tsaritsa must have been against Celestia. It only made sense that some of them were from Khanrieah.

"I'm sorry. I've heard many stories of that place. What they did was truly awful..."

"Thank you," Capitano answered, "It was a tragedy. I lost everything that day. Family, friends, and allies all gone in the blink of an eye."

I could feel my stomach twist.

"Is that why you became a harbinger?"

"Partly," He replied, "There is more to it than that, but that is a long story."

"That really is horrible... all of that for one nation? There were so many innocent lives lost. I just don't understand why they would do this."

Capitano let out a deep sigh, "They didn't approve of what we were doing. A godless nation with that much power. It was a threat."

Khanrieah must have been a magnificent place. I can only imagine if it was still here now it would be thriving.

If Capitano was alive this meant he must have been a pureblood.

Which also meant...

"You're immortal aren't you?"

There was a pause before he nodded.

"You seem to know a lot for someone who has just arrived in Snezhnaya." Capitano commented.

I felt my heart drop.

Oh no... that had been a little bit too much.

I couldn't help but feel a little guilty. So far Capitano had been forthcoming with me. I could guess that most of the others would not be so honest about their origins.

Would it really be so bad if he knew the truth...?

"Well... word does get around." I commented nervously laughing.

Capitano shook his head, "Not that type of information. So I'll ask you Y/N, who are you?"

My heart rate sped up a bit and I clenched my cloak.

And there had gone my cover...

I could hear the sound of my heart as silence dawned. The two of us stared at one another.

Capitano really did seem trustworthy... so maybe just maybe I could tell him the truth.

I swallowed cold air before attempting to find the right words, "Well... uh this is a little difficult to explain."

I felt a little ashamed, "When I had said I had forgotten. That wasn't true. I didn't think I could trust you and I didn't want the other harbingers or the Tsaritsa to find out either..."

Capitano let out a soft sigh.

What he said next froze me in place.

"I understand Y/N. Its not easy to mention that you are a descender."
