Sasha's POV

I'm sitting at the table, trying to get some homework done when Drew comes in.

"Mommy, I want to see Mouse."

"We can go in a little bit, baby. Mommy needs to get this done real quick. How about I turn on Daniel Tiger for you right now," I say, standing up and grabbing him a snack too.

He jumps around excitedly once I grab club crackers, which are his favorite, for a snack.

We go into the living room and he settles on the couch with his crackers and his water, ready to watch TV.

"Give me 20 minutes, baby, and we will go see Mouse. K?"

"K," he grins as he takes a big bite of cracker, making crumbs rain down on my couch. Whatever. If I can get this English assignment done in peace, I'm good with having to vacuum in a bit.

I'm only working on it for about five minutes, when Mason and Josie walk in.

"Hey Sash," Mason says, kissing my cheek.

"Hey! How was your day?"

"Good. Yours?"

"Busy. I've got Drew watching TV, because I'm an amazing parent," I say, rolling my eyes.

Mason chuckles and goes into the living room.

"Sash, I thought you said he was watching TV."

"He was. I just got him settled about five minutes ago."

"Drew!" Mason yells, looking around the lower level for him.

Suddenly my phone starts ringing.

"Hello?"

"Hey Sasha Girl. I've got a little boy sitting on my chair, anxious to see Mouse," dad says.

The blood drains from my face. I left him in the living room for five minutes! He went across the street and I had absolutely no idea.

"Drew walked to your house?"

"Yeah. He's fine."

"We will be right there," I say as I start to cry.

"Sasha, I can't find him anywhere," Mason says, starting to panic.

"What's wrong?" He asks, stopping once he sees me.

"He walked across the street. He's at my parents."

"HE WHAT?!?" Mason asks in horror.

I start crying even harder. "Five minutes. He was only in there for five minutes," I sob.

Mason kisses my head. "Not your fault, baby. I've been in the bathroom for longer than that before and left him out here by himself. He's three. He knew better," he says darkly as he grabs my hand and we walk across the street.

When we get in, Mason walks straight towards the table. He says nothing as he crouches down, and puts his hands on either side of the chair, glaring at Drew.

Drew sees his daddy's mad face, a face he has never seen directed at him before, and immediately starts crying.

Mason looks unfazed.

"Andrew Taylor, did you walk over here by yourself?" He asks quietly. Darkly.

Drew is still crying as he nods, wiping his nose with the back of his hand.

"Did mommy give you permission?"

He just shakes his head, making his blonde curls bounce.
