Liam's POV
I've stayed in my office the last hour, getting caught up on my files, and trying to regroup. I'm not mad at Savannah, I find it funny. I'm mad at myself that I find it so funny. I'm not sure what's not working correctly in my brain. Something hasn't matured, and it should have by now. I'm frustrated with myself.
I finally go out and check on her. Hamilton is making her mop the floor right now.
"She being ok for you, Hamilton?" I ask with a small smile.
"Yes Lieutenant. She's been busy."
"Good" I nod. "Ready to head out for a bit, girly?"
"Not really. Can I stay here?"
"Now, Savannah"
She sighs and hands the mop to Hamilton.
"Don't put it away. She's spending the night here," I say over my shoulder.
"Are you serious?" She asks with an attitude.
I raise my eyebrows and stop walking. "Problem?"
"Yeah. I want to go home. Why can't I stay with mom?"
"Because the last time you were in trouble, I came home to find mom in tears. I'm not doing it today."
"Mom's too sensitive," she snaps.
I sigh, and before I realize what I'm doing, I smack her on the butt sharply. Several people see.
Her eyes get wide. She's a mixture of embarrassed and surprised.
"No, you're nasty to her," I say darkly.
She just glares at me.
"Tatum, I'm going home for a bit. You're in charge until I get back."
"Yes Lieutenant," he says with a smirk.
We get in my car and we start driving to mom's.
"Can you please just use your hand?" She asks as we're pulling into mom's driveway.
"Nope. I gave you fair warning that this was coming if you ever got in trouble at school again."
"I don't want the paddle," she says, raising her voice.
"Talk to me like that again, and I'll give you a hand spanking, and then a paddling. I promise you don't want that."
She rolls her eyes, and I pretend like I don't see it. I'm not in the mood to discipline.
We get out of the car and go inside. Mom and Nolan are goofing around at the table.
When mom sees us, she gets her stern face. I always hated that face...I knew my butt was going to be throbbing momentarily.
"Ready to introduce her to my childhood enemy?" I grumble.
Mom snorts and shakes her head. "Let's go. He's ready to meet her."
"Who?" Nolan asks.
"She's getting paddled," mom says.
"Getting what?"
"Spanked"
"Then why didn't you just say that?"
Mom chuckles. "Because it's with a paddle instead of a hand."
"What's a paddle?"
"Don't worry, baby boy. I'm sure you will meet it one day." She says, pinching his cheek.
"You're about to hear it," I chuckle. Savannah doesn't find any of this amusing. If anything, she's starting to look like she's about to get an attitude.
