/Zhoom! Clack! Zhoom!/
" Is that the best you can do!? Come now! You're nothing but an annoying fly trying to get away from me swatting you after you bite me!"
Magda was screaming as I was running back to a safe position, I've been using hit and run tactics since she can't seem to catch me while I have the Yellow Mana active. I've been doing this for about 3 minutes now, I'd run in without her being able to tell where I am, I land 1 to 3 attacks with my dagger and hatchet, then she tries to land a counter blow. There's only one major issue with using this strategy is the fact that I can't actually cut her with my attacks. How the hell did I manage to break her nail if I can't even do anything with all of my arm strength put into trying to cut her? I mean, my Mana Blade was shut off when I brought my Yellow Mana out, but I didn't think there'd be this much of a difference. Even with my enhanced abilities, I can't actually damage her. It just makes me wonder what her skin is made of? Is she actually like a spider? Is what I'm attacking actually an exoskeleton? If it is, maybe I need to do something else? Also, I noticed something from fighting her like this. It looks like Stone Touch only works with physical contact with my body currently. I'm assuming there's a way to, I just don't know how to do it. Is it the Job giving me this feeling? Or am I just hopeful? Either way, I need to find a way to cut into her. If I keep doing the same thing, I'll wear out the edge of my dagger before I could actually harm her. Speaking of which...
/ Zhoom! Clack! Clack! Zhoom!/
" Stop running!"
" Catch me if you can!"
If anything, at the very least, I'm pissing her off more and more, that feels good considering she was moments away from killing me multiple times during this fight. But again, I attacked and got away and the only thing that's changed is that my dagger has an even higher chance of chipping, dulling or breaking from this method. I guess I really need to try another method and there's only one other to try for now. The Red Mana will boost my attacking abilities. And it looks like that's going to be what it takes. I stay in one spot... It looks like one good thing from this waste of time is that Magda is cautious about approaching me, either from the petrification or the surprises from my Deadly Colors mana. Whichever it is, I'm just thankful she's pensive about it. I think really hard about how I want to attack and do damage... And then I feel something change, I feel strength coming from deep inside of me and then...
/ Woosh!/
* Grip!*
" Wow!"
I see the Yellow Mana be overtaken by the Red Mana I wanted to see. Strangely, they didn't make an orange-colored mana like I thought it would. Now that I think about it, the blue and yellow mana didn't mix either. I guess there's a method to doing it? I mean, back in primary school, all we had to do was mix paint during our art classes, I guess it's not that simple when it comes to Mana? Something to think about later... For now... I need to end this. First thing's first. I'm faster than I was before I evolved, but she's still a bit faster than me. I need to fix that. And there's only one way to do it.
" Fleet Foot."
I say the words as I channel my mana. I feel my legs feel a surge of power... Even more power than before. Even though I've been thinking about this again and again, I really am shocked at just how has changed from just evolving and acquiring a new Job. Anyways, I need to get started. I grip the hatchet and dagger, then I activate my Mana Blade. Once my Red Mana and my Mana Blade mixed together to make my dagger go from a simple steel dagger into a dark red and dangerous looking blade, I took off to attack Magda.
/ THumP!/
I kick the floor and end up in front of Magda, who was on the other side of this giant dining hall, in less than a second. The dining hall was about the size of a football field back in my world. I was surprised I could make it this far. My speed was a bit less than when my Yellow Mana was activated, but the difference came in the way I gained the speed. With Yellow Mana, my physical abilities weren't increased, it was more like I was put on fast forward. Every action I did was just fast, I don't know how else to explain it. But with Fleet Foot. it boosts the strength of my feet, both my speed and the actual strength of my feet are increased. In another way of saying it, with Fleet Foot, I flew myself to this position in a single action. With Yellow Mana it takes multiple steps to physically get to here from where I was, but I could cover that distance even faster than the one movement with Fleet Foot. it's confusing to think about... And I don't even want to think about what would happen if I combined them. That's something for another day... As for right now.
/ Clang! Crack!/
" Ah!"
" Yes!"
" You!"
/ Shing!/
" No way!"
/ CLANG!/
" DIE!"
" NO!"
/ CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!/
Magda had no idea what was happening, maybe she's become mentally tired from having to do so much guess work about how I'd attack when I was using my Yellow Mana? Either way, I was able to land the first blow in this exchange. I tried stabbing her in her stomach, but I still couldn't pierce her skin. Even though I failed at that, but I was able to crack it... I was right, it's not actually her skin, it's some kind of biological armor. What kind of a Demon is she? I've never heard of a Demon being able to have natural armor before. Either way, my Red Mana is a success, I just need to keep landing blows... It'd be so easy if not for the fact that she's also trying to kill me. After I landed the first hit, she realized that I was next to her. She began to try and cut me down. To that, I blocked and parried her physical blades and do my best to avoid her Pure Mana Blades. Everything was going well; we were trading blows without her being able to land a blow on me. But I wasn't landing either. It's time to change that.
/ CLANG! Shing! CLANK!/
" What!?"
We were stuck in a flurry of mana and steel, but I was able to separate her blades like what happened to me not too long ago. Magda was shocked, but I was ready for this!
/ CLANK!/
* STAB!*
" AH!"
" Yes!"
I did it, I was able to stab her in the stomach! I quickly pulled out my dagger and retreated from in front of Magda. I looked at my dagger and was surprised by what I saw... The blood on my dagger... It was... Green?
" Damn you!"
Magda was seething in anger as she held her stomach.
" What the hell are you?"
" I'm a Demon! Through and through! That color is from my Job! Just like how the color of your mana is changing, Human!"
" My name is Lucy. You should know the name of the person who's going to kill you."
" That pompous attitude is disgusting you piece of trash! You think just because you stabbed me that it's over! You think just because you've gained a new Job on the brink of death or whatever is enough to deal with a warrior of my caliber!"
/RuMbLe!/
" !"
Magda's anger seemed to be reaching a boiling point. Just as I was thinking I finally had the upper hand; she began to release a strong mass of mana all around her. It was so powerful and unstable that it was shaking the walls, floor and ceiling of the hall we were in... Well, I say hall but it's still most likely an underground floor in a cave. This is bad. If she's not careful, she'll drop everything that's above us right on top of our heads! I need to stop her quickly!
/ ThumP! Swoosh! Cling!/
* GRIP!*
My control was shaky as I jumped quickly in front of her and launched an attack. I thought I had her dead to rights, but to my absolute shock, Magda dropped one of her Pure Mana Blades and grabbed my hand before I could cut or stab her.
/ RUMBLE!/
" You think you're little flea bites are enough to kill me!? You're nothing but an irritation! A sore on my nose from cold weather! You're nothing! Now! DIE!"
* GRIP!*
/ SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWISH! BANG!/
Now I know Magda has lost herself to anger, she had me in her hands and instead of just cutting me down, she swung me around like I was in the center of a tornado and threw me into a wall... She's unstable and her mana is releasing and shaking the cave even more now. I need to do something!
" You're going to die now! For good! GO TO HE-'
/ Woosh! Thump!/
" That's enough of that, Magda. The mission's over, we're leaving."
Just as Magda was about to launch herself at me, a mass of black mana came rising out of the ground next to Magda. A Demon Woman walked out of it and pushed Magda off of her feet. Then she chided her like it was all no big deal. Who even is this!?
