" Yeah, good, clear the area... Alright... Gil, go ahead!"
/ Rumble!/
" That about right?"
" Yup, perfect. Do that for the rest of the structure now and also make floors that connect as you go up with them."
" You do realize I'm a King, right, Matthew?"
" Hey, no need to limit yourself! I'm wearing like 8 different hats myself."
" Why did I agree to this?"
" Because I asked?"
" That's not what I meant... Oh forget it..."
A somewhat defeated King Gilbert Harrow continued to weave the earth like it was a bread dough and began to form a tall structure that was the first part of a small outpost for our soldiers in Paradise. It's been a week since Matthew had returned from Bestia. The first 2 days were somewhat hectic... Not so much from the plans that Matthew had put into place, but mostly from Princess Alice. To say that she's begun to use her status to gain her way... Would be an understatement... Everything from sitting opposite from Matthew during meals, to taking an extra 30 minutes during their meetings to grow more " intimate" as a potential couple. She's begun to add a few extra wrenches to everything that Matthew had planned to do. I'm surprised that she didn't also wish to send a letter to Darkheim along with Matthew's own. Speaking of which, I was surprised at how quickly he was able to receive a return letter. Instead of using the traditional method of sending and receiving mail, he simply used Paula's ability to hand deliver his letter to Queen Crystal, after waiting for 3 days, he simply used the portal again to receive the return letter of the Nyx Royal Family. All of this is to say that an appointment for 2 weeks from now has been made for him to have a meeting with King Leonard and Queen Crystal.
" Say, Matthew... Are you sure that this is the best place to make the first outpost? I mean, the geography has changed so rapidly, right? Are you sure this will work?"
" Hm? Yes, I'm pretty sure about it. Sarah, Anna, Charlotte, Emily, Ruby and I all went over the new map that the scouting squads have made, I'm pretty certain this will work as is. The idea is to have this act as one of the main 4 outposts that all of the others will take their orders from in case of emergency. But more than that, we can look at it as a blueprint for how to build the following outposts since it'll be viewable from most places. That's also why this will be made of the special concrete mix that the roads I've made is made of. That way they stay standing, even if the wood and brick outposts that will be made from now on get damaged in any way."
" I see..."
Alice asked a question to Matthew, she wasn't available during these discussions we had shortly before Matthew left to create the main road connecting Blackstone, the capital city of Diablos to Paradise. Even though Matthew was back for quite some time after we had finalized the plan for making the outposts, the Summit and everything that happened after stopped the advancement of this security plan in it's tracks. Its a somewhat basic tactic that Matthew decided to us. More or less we picked around 200 locations all around Paradise as well as along the road to Blackstone until you hit the Eastern Border. All of those locations will have an outpost made of wood and brick along with barracks that will fit around 100 soldiers along with 500 civilians. Though, as Matthew has pointed out, those 500 civilians would probably also work as extra soldiers in case of an enemy invasion.
" Still though, you chose such a high hill to build this on. On top of that, the watchtower is outfitted with a lighthouse at the top. It's quite the strange idea."
