Chapter 473. New Areas, New People, New Discoveries

/ Swoosh! CRASH!/

" Wow! That was loud."

" It's called a Heavy Bow for a reason, Matthew."

" Yeah, but still..."

" Impressive, Charlotte. But the next one we run into is my prey! I'm going to catch something big."

Currently, I'm now in the Southern Forest area near Paradise. Living in a land like Paradise is somewhat strange, at first, I thought after the Water Goddess had reversed her curse it would all be over, but actually, the areas around Paradise continued to  shift and change somewhat. For instance, the western swamps have changed, what was once a giant swamp is now cut into 2 and a long, strong road is in the middle of it. I had no real issue with it, since it only meant that I had to do half of the work when I made the main road that connects to Blackstone. Besides that, the forest that's formed in the southern part of the area has grown thicker and mountains began to rise from the ground. They at first looked like hills, but now, it's becoming quite the sight. Soon, I think the mountains might be high enough to where the oxygen becomes super thin. The Northern Plains are pretty much the same, the only difference is the amount of hills that have popped up over the months. The East probably went through the most changes, from the somewhat serene views it gave to now... It's become a thick jungle recently. Not just that, but quite dangerous creatures, everything from poisonous frogs and fast panther-like monsters with razor sharp claws and fangs and different elemental properties to even small wyverns and drakes. I was almost horrified to hear the reports that our hunting teams were turning in. I was going to go on a hunting spree to try and exterminate all of the more dangerous monsters, that was until Flare told me not to. Since the changes in the area from the Water Goddess, she's been the Joint Chief of the Hunting Project along with Skitz. Mostly this was due to the face that they were experienced hunters that even I asked for advice during the first few days I hunted.

" What are you going to try to get, Matthew?"

" I'm not really sure, Cynthia... I'm kind of just enjoying the sights at this point. I haven't actually stepped foot in this forest since I finished up the farming projects."

" But its all dead trees as far as the eye can see?"

" Yeah, but it's just nice to see something different than the city. Even if the changes that have happened have been massive, I've always liked nature and trees more than buildings."

" Why didn't you say to head to the jungle to the East then?"

" Because the Jungle there is real dangerous, and you're both Princesses."

" But that's no fun! I wanted to contribute!"

" Hey. Catching C-Rank Monsters for the food supply is important, Cynthia."

" You mean catching these Deer Monsters and Killer Rabbits?"

" Yes, you wanted to do somethin that helped out the city, right?"

" Yes, but still..."

" Any food for a hungry person is good. That's what I constantly said when I was hunting."

" Is it really?"

Cynthia didn't seem to believe me, but in all honesty, that is the reason I pushed so hard with the hunting. I mean, I head 3000 hungry mouths to feed and Demons aren't light eaters. I needed to make sure everyone had full stomachs and quickly. Thankfully, a few alligators a day along with the vegetable harvests eventually meant that no one in Paradise would go hungry, but it was touch and go for about a week there. Now though, I think it'd be harder to get people to stop eating instead of finding them food. Apparently it's somewhat of a problem for the housewives of Paradise. To the point where there's now dedicated times for exercise routines during the day. I try my best to avoid those times... Since I'm sort of the reason they exist in the first place, but what can I say? I wanted to eat ice cream, pizza and spaghetti again. Though maybe I should look into alternatives for pasta? I wonder if there's a chickpea option or something? I guess I should ask Jim about this later? Either way, I need to answer Cynthia's question.
