Chapter 561. Sarah's Improv

/ Clang! Clang! Clang!/

* Tighten.*

We ran from the tank's position back to John, but by time we made it there, the battle had begun. The sound of steel clashing against steel filled the area as well as the wailing of the injured. I felt my hand involuntarily tighten itself around my halberd as I thought about John being stuck in the middle of all of this chaos.

" So it's started, Anna, can you find him?"

" I'm already looking... It's a little hard with all of the spells and swords flying everywhere, but I've been able to look over around 50% of the battlefield."

Anna's eyes all around her body were wiggling in unison as they looked for John. I've no doubt he's still alive, but to make it to him... There's no doubt that the 4 of us will most likely need to cut through swathes of Elves to get to him. I wouldn't particularly mind doing that, but I'm concerned for his end... This many Elves aren't going to be easy, even if we were lucky and he was able to heal injured Demons and have around 1000 soldiers, it still would be a tough battle. As Anna searched for John, Ruby, Flare and I could see that my thoughts were correct. The Demons and Elves that were fighting were locked in somewhat of a stalemate.

" Ah!"

And we watched as a free Elf was able to land a spell on a Demon's back as he was clashing with another Elf. The numbers advantage is going to cause our side to lose.

/ Pop!/

Just as the situation began to look bad, the signal that John had told us about was used. A small smoke bomb had gone off in the air. That meant that the Demons in a Group were being overwhelmed...

" Found him! He's with another Demon, they're both looking up at the sky!"

Anna interrupted my thoughts as she announced that she had found John. Not just that, but he was with someone. Most likely a Solider to either act as a guard or he's reporting something to John, either way, they were both looking at the smoke in the sky. It was blue smoke.

/ Gong!/

" Hm? Is... Is that bell? A big bell? Where is it?"

Everyone was just as confused as Ruby, a bell, which must be the size of a small house was being repeatedly struck... And now...

" Uwaaaa!"

The sound of multiple voices harmonizing into a song began to ring out all around us. The voices... They sounded so serene... So beautiful...

And now they were singing words... But they were in a language that I couldn't recognize...

* Surge!*

" What!?"

" Woah!"

" Oh!"

" Ah!"

Ruby and Flare were surprised by the feeling that must've come over all of us. Anna and I were also surprised for a moment, but as soon as we felt this sensation, this warmth. It felt as familiar as breathing to us. It was John's mana... Or more specifically, it's one of John's spells, going by how this feels, it's similar to the feeling of when he used his buff spells for us when we've had to fight one thing or the other. Though this time... The feeling of the spell... It's a bit... Different? This was the first part of the plan that felt a bit... Strange to me? Not in a bad way... It was just different? Maybe in a way, this is a new side of My Husband that I'm experiencing?
