" Wow..."
Jaime was awed by the serene view from halfway up the mountain range, we had stopped at the half way point across the range, so far, we've yet to find anything, aside from Monster tracks, small caves and the occasional running stream. We've pretty much have had a nice drive through nature. I do wonder if the horses are alright however. The roads are bumpy and not maintained the best. That and the fact that we're going up an incline made me a bit worried.
We've tried to take a decent amount of breaks and I've even tried healing them with the basic Cleric Spells that I have. So far, it seems to work, the horses do seem to be happy as we walk along the path... Well, until we run into a Monster that is.
" The view from here is nice. I think Bridgett mentioned that this is a popular camping spot for travelers?"
Lucy spoke to Jaime about some trivia she apparently learned from her teacher. I could see why, the place we were in was a decent trek, but being up here now, I would like to be here alone with John for a few days... Getting closer and closer... Maybe someone spills water on the campfire and we'd need to huddle closer and closer to stay warm...
" Laura, did you use your healing magic on the horses yet?"
Just as I was getting to the good part... The fool spoke to me... Why does he always get in the way!? I looked at him without hiding the annoyance on my face as I answered his idiotic question.
" Yes, I did. I also filled up their barrel to drink from. They ate some apples from the little patch about an hour ago, so they're not hungry at the moment."
" Oh... Okay... Great!"
* Shift.*
" What are you doing?"
" I'm taking a seat, I just got done cleaning the wheels, I wanted a break."
He smiled at me as if this was something that was perfectly normal. I was sitting on a log with the other girls... And now he sat next to me with only around a 2 foot long distance between us.
" Speaking of which, for my break, I was wondering how you're doing, Laura? We haven't been able to talk much since we've been so busy."
He... He's trying to have a conversation with me? Is he that belligerent? I don't think I've met such a dense person in my life. He's the complete opposite of John! He's always thought about how I felt. In comparison, this fool couldn't guess if I was asleep or awake it feels like.
" Hey, Laura, are you sure the horses aren't hungry, look at them."
Ashley called out to me, I quickly looked back at the horses to see that they were attempting to eat the grass that was growing around where they were standing. It looks like Ashley had gotten me the ticket to escaping this fool.
" You're right, it does seem like they're hungry. I'll go and give them some of their feed then."
Answering Ashley's question, I quickly stood up with the intent to head to the horses, but just as I stood up straight, I felt something strange.
* Grip*
I felt someone grab the wrist of my right hand. I looked back to see him grabbing my wrist with a serious look on his face. This is ridiculous. He thinks he has the right to touch me? I made a fist before I even thought about it. Just as I was about to scream at him, he began to speak. It took a lot not to deck him in the jaw.
" Wait, Laura, there's been this weird distance between us ever since we got here. I'm not any different from how I was before we came here, just because I'm the Hero doesn't mean I've actually changed. Why are you trying so hard to stay away from me?"
