Chapter 557. Destroying A Row For Revenge

" Alright, stop here."

I called out to the others as we were moving through the forest around us. Ruby and Flare were jumping from tree to tree as Sarah and I were running on the ground. The reason we needed to stop is that we've finally reached the correct position. I used some of my eyes to keep a watch on the tanks and the squads surrounding them. Their movements have been quite passive, almost all of the focus has been on their backs, which was further South and the people who seem to be charging the tanks with mana which faced North at the position where John and the rest are. That worked well for us as we've entered the forest to the East. We decided to just attack from the side since Sarah can launch a quick attack that should wipe out the tanks. We decided to hit hard and fast since they won't be expecting it. If that doesn't work, we can go to option 2 which is simply to flip all of the tanks with my Cleric and Divine Channeler abilities.

" They're still all there, right, Anna?"

" Yes, I don't think anyone's moved too far. This clearing is also safe, they're mostly watching their backs and we avoided the Magical Devices they placed here in this forest."

" Good."

/ Thump. Thump./

Just as Sarah and I were going through our checklist of if we were ready for this operation to start, Ruby and Flare had landed on the ground next to us.

" So, they're all there, are you sure we just need to protect Sarah for this?"

" Yeah, I just need some time to channel my mana to use a one of my Skills. I just got done testing it in my fight with that Sword Master. It should work and if not, we can move on to Plan B."

" You mean what John said would be the easiest route for him?"

" Yes, but flipping the tanks upside down doesn't really sit well with me, they killed so many Demons, they made his plan go up in flames, I can't allow them to be able to retrieve these at a later date."

" But what if he wanted you to flip them so Diablos could retrieve them?"

Sarah we explaining why she wanted to destroy the tanks and Ruby brought up an idea. Sarah looked stumped for a moment, but she quickly brushed Ruby's idea out of the way.

" If he wanted us to save them, he would've told us. Besides, we can't just incapacitate the tanks and then leave. We'll need to fight the Elves that are here if he'd have wanted to bring them back to Diablos. If we didn't completely decimate them here, they'll just take back the slightly damaged tanks. That would be too risky for him to even consider since he wants us all to return to him safely."

Sarah quickly offered her counter argument and Ruby could see that she was correct.

" Okay, okay. So we're using your Skill to destroy the tanks. Then what?"

" We leave. The force that's here should scramble and not expect the attack, that'll give us time to head back. If any of them do figure out where we are, we can just slaughter them if they attempt anything."

" Fair enough."

Flare had asked a question to confirm the plan after we attack the tanks. Sarah quickly ran through the escape plan. It wasn't much, but it made enough sense. Honestly, I think all 4 of us were hoping that the Elves were smart enough to follow our trail when we leave... To say that some payback would be nice would be putting it lightly. To think they had the gall to try and ruin our plans for the future, they need to suffer for this. And the timing is perfect to enact some of that suffering.
