Wha... What was I doing? Wait.... Someone's screaming?
" HELP ME! PLEASE!"
" What!?"
I finally opened my eyes... What the hell? Where am I? It's a... It's a forest? No... It's a burnt down forest, there's nothing but ash on the ground and burned trees. It's like someone dropped missiles and napalm all around this place? What the hell happened here?
/ CLANG! CLANG CLANK!/
I hear sounds... Metal on metal? Swords clashing? It's to my right... What the hell is going on? I look around a bit more... The sky is blood red, I can see stone castles in the distance, but they look old... No... They're broken, again like bombs were dopped on it. They were all destroyed in places like someone took a wrecking ball to them in random places. This makes no sense. I was... I was in Bestia before... Warrick and King Alan tackled me and put me out. Where is this?
" HELP!"
Again, I heard the voice... I quickly tell that it's coming from the right of me. I turn to take a look and that's when I see it. I'm a tall cliff overlooking a valley. The plateau that I was on must be on par with the top floor of skyscrapers back in my world. I looked down and i could hear it.
/ CLANG! CLANK! CLANG! BOOM! BANG!/
Swords... Spears... Shields... Magic... It was a battle... I could see it. I can't tell what the sides looked like however, I was too far up, they all looked like ants to me. All I could tell is that the 2 sides of the battle were locked in a stalemate, no one was making much progress in the battle. I guess the screams were the sound of dying soldiers before the final blow was delivered? I must be dreaming though, but if that's the case, what am I dreaming of? Is this the future? The war that I'm about to partake in after making it back home? Or is this like last time? The past battle I saw where the Paladins were fighting those shadow monsters? Well... Maybe there's an easy way to tell?
* Pat... Pat...*
Okay, if this is a battle from the war that's about to happen, then I'm underprepared for the battle that's happening. I'm dressed in basic clothing, I don't have Scarlet or Julia's Bracelets and I'm shoeless... I'm going to go out on a limb and assume I'm in the past. But if that's the case, what the hell am I doing here for?
/ WOOSH!/
" Woah!"
Just as I asked that question, almost as if someone was looking to answer it, I felt a strong pulsation of mana coming from somewhere in the air in front of me... No, that's not entirely correct, it's like what ever was casting the spell was pulling in mana from all around the area. I thought the only way to manipulate mana was from the mana pool inside you, but I can feel the mana in the air and ground being pulled and condensed into a small point. What the hell is going on? I did my best to look and see what was bringing the mana to the air... I think I see a small dot in the horizon? Is... Is it a person?
/ THOOOMMMMM!/
Before I could confirm what I was seeing, an explosion burst from the small dot that I saw. A golden light suddenly appeared in a flash of blinding light. It was like looking at the sun. I did my best to look without blinding myself and I could see the golden light begin to pour down from it's origin in the sky. Then, like an ocean wave, it began to cover everything in the valley below us. The sounds that I heard coming from below me... It was hard to put into words. Death cries rang out like the chirping of crickets on a summer night... It was so loud and ubiquitous it was as if it became white noise. I wondered in my mind what could do this, only to be answered quite fast. Eventually, the golden light made it's way to the cliff edge that I was sitting on. Just like ocean waves, the golden light hit the cliff and crashed in on itself like an actual wave of water. And it was while it was doing this that I recognized the golden light...
