" Alright! Ready! Set! Begin!"

/ Thump! CLANG!/

With Ruby's signal, the sparring match started. Both Captain Martin and I kicked the ground to send each other flying at each other, our swords clashed quite loudly, it was just showing that both of us were excited to spar each other. While that was all fine and dandy, there was one slight problem...

" RAAAHHH!"

" Get him Captain!"

" Don't give him any ground Lord Matthew!"

Between all of the cheering for Captain Martin, I could hear a familiar voice calling for me... I could almost sigh as I wanted to reprimand Flare somewhat for participating in this us vs them thing so publicly. Especially since Captain Martin wasn't even the enemy to be worried about, it was the opposite, at least from what I could tell.

/ CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!/

We began to swing our sparring swords as we attempted to gain an advantage over the other person. We obviously weren't attacking each other with everything we had, that would negate the point of sparring, since it's just a chance to practice what we already know and what we're learning. Speaking of which, I think its time to escalate the level of this sparring match a bit. I watched for Captain Martin's sword swing and once I felt I had the timing, I began to use a Skill that I've been practicing every chance I got ever since I've gotten back from Bestia.

/ CLANG!/

" Whoa!"

Captain Martin's face showed that he was surprised by me parrying his blade. I'd like to think that I've gotten pretty good at using it. Out of the 5 Skills that I've been practicing since I unlocked them in Bestia, the easiest to use were Parry and Dynamic Vision Enhancement. Parry, I think was easy to use because it was a basic defensive Skill that I probably should've learned a lot earlier, but I was too busy reviving Paradise. Dynamic Vision was the 2nd just purely based on the fact that it was a Passive Skill. Granted, there was another Passive Skill, it was Unorthodox Guarding, but it was harder to use than the sparring with Prince Adam would've had me believe, it's kind of like an advanced Parry in a way, in that it's a defensive action that I can use to protect myself, the issue was the fact that... Well, it's unorthodox like the name implies, when I'm in a sparring match or even when I'm in the middle of just practicing the Skill, it's very hard to pull off since it involves using parts of my sword that I don't usually use, granted, in theory, I could also use a shield as well, but I haven't been using one recently, just because I've been trying to practice my swordsmanship as much as possible. Moving on to something more important though... The attacking Skills that I've gained, like for instance.

" Spiral Slash!"

" !"

Captain Martin looked startled by my movements, sure they were still far from perfect, but I used Spiral Slash just to see what he'd do in this position. I almost wanted to crack a smile as he answered my expectations.

/ THUMP! Boom!/

With a sharp kick of his leg on the ground, Captain Martin seemingly disappeared from my sights and reappeared around 20 feet away from me. It looks like it's a high-speed movement Skill or spell... Good on him, it looks like he does have some surprises for me, at the very least, this sparring match won't be boring for me. I wonder if Captain Martin, or even Captain Rena, who was watching the sparring match with a good amount of interest, was thinking the same thing?

" Don't you think it's a bit early to start using Skills? I mean, we barely even swung our swords?"

" I thought you could handle it... And it looks like i was right. You're pretty quick on your feet."
