" While the sun may only peak through the dark branches of the trees we prosper under, we should never forget that light is just as safe as the darkness to us. The stories of Ryan Nyx always showed that he spent his life showing us to never give up on the light. That will always be the way I remember his memory. Thank you for coming today."

At the end of a 30 minute long speech, King Leonard had put the finishing touches on his speech and had stepped down from the podium after quite a moving speech. There were tears in the audience for the funeral. It was Ryan's funeral obviously. After he used the spell to try and gift Charlotte mana and magic, he disappeared, however, strangely, half of his jewel was left on the ground where he was levitating as he used those beams on Charlotte. The jewel was different though, it used to shine as if there was a tiny light inside of it, but now it was a dull lifeless red. It reminded of the pools of blood you'd see around the corpse of a victim in a movie or tv show. Either way, it was something of his, so we were able to at least put something in his grave where he can rest with his brother, King Daniel and King Daniel's wife, Queen Evelin.

People in the crowd were crying, it made me think that King Leonard's speech worked really well. However, the sniffle that I had just heard was from Charlotte herself. I was a little surprised to see her begin to cry since I don't think I've ever seen her cry like this. Occasionally I've see her tear up, but never like this. Ryan was her Uncle after all and losing family that you liked has to hurt, no matter how long you've known them for. Thankfully, I was prepared for this, I quickly reached into my pocket and pulled out one of 4 handkerchiefs that i brought with me just in case. I quickly offered it to Charlotte.

" Here, Charlotte."

" Thank you... I don't know why, it's affecting me so much... I just met him."

" You don't need a reason to mourn family, Charlotte. You're also not the only one. Look, you're Grandpa and Grandma are also sad."

Charlotte looked to her right, past Del and his Fiancé, Lady Kate, who were seated next to Charlotte and I to look at her Grandparents who were quite past being misty-eyed. Today was quite literally the next day after Ryan passed on. I was asked to stay in Darkheim for the funeral and it's not like I was able to turn the people asking me this down, since it was the King and Queen of the nation. I spent the night in a guest room and I slept okay, but I couldn't help but notice that I felt off... It was the same feeling as when I was hold up in that prison cell back in Alfheim... I was missing Sarah and Anna. I quickly went back to Paradise before going to sleep to let them know what was happening. I asked if they wanted to come to the funeral as well, but they said that since they weren't invited personally, they would just hold down the fort for me back in Paradise. When I woke up this morning, I was greeted by 2 older people that I didn't recognize, I was asked so many questions by them as well. It was to the point that I thought that I may have been interrogated instead of just answering a few questions. The people that I met were the Grandparents of Charlotte. This morning was the first time that I met them. Former King Charles and Former Queen Delilah. After hearing their names, I figured out quite quickly where Charlotte and Del's names came from. Even though they were around 2000 years old, they didn't look at day over 50. It made me marvel at just how long-lived Dark Elves actually were. Former King Charles carried the telltale signs of being a member of the Nyx Family. He had grey-colored hair that bordered on being white in color. As for Former Queen Delilah, her hair color was a dark brown that bordered on black.  They were quite spirited as they asked me questions this morning. Their dull amber colored eyes almost seemed to sparkle as they spoke to me. I bring this up since now, they looked every bit of their age as they grieved the loss of a member of their people.
