It was the day after returning home... Or... Morning?... Yes, it's morning... The sun was barely over the horizon, my room was still kind of dark... Who the fu-... Oh, it's Aqua... Sarah did call out to her. Why is she here so early in the morning? Wait... Did she kick in the door?

" Aqua? What are you doing?"

I tried to rub the tiredness out of my eyes as I asked Aqua what had happened.

" Sorry, we couldn't really wait for this. I assume you've all received word about the Western Border being attacked, right?"

Sarah, who had jumped out of bed and had a halberd made of mana in her hands, nodded her head along with me to Aqua's question.

" Well, we've just gotten out of an emergency meeting with our High-Ranking Military Officials. We need to speak to you urgently, John. And by proxy, Sarah and Anna are going to need to know about it."

Aqua seemed very concerned as she spoke... I guess whatever happened at the meeting involved me somehow... I can only imagine what the Generals and other High-Ranking Officials were thinking bringing me up in a conversation about an invasion. Either way, I'm going to need to get out of be-... Wait... We?

" Aqua, you said " we"."

" Yes, she did, John. Sorry to bother you, but I thought it best to speak to you immediately. The door will be fine by the way, she'll fix it with magic."

Warrick stuck his hand into my room and began to wave it to show that he was here... Yup, my Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law just kicked in my door to wake us up. I guess it's time to get out of bed.

* Pull!*

" Oh..."

I felt a tug on the right side of my bAdy, I looked down to see the eyes on Anna's hands wiggling around as they were in deep REM sleep. One thing I've learned about Anna during our marriage is that she's very weak in the morning if she doesn't get a decent 8 hours of sleep. I reversed my movements and laid back down and began to speak to Anna. There's a few ways to wake her up... But I think the fastest way is to...

" Anna, your Master needs you."

" Hn..."

I whispered in her ears and it seemed to do the trick. Seriously, I have no idea why something like that is so effective... She told me to use that exact phrase if I ever needed to wake her up, I just wish I knew why that exact phrase works... Don't get me wrong, I understand that she enjoyed her time being my Exclusive Maid, but she's Wife now, you'd think she'd be want to called a pet name or something? Instead, she only wakes up if I use one of her favorite pet names for me.

" John?... AQUA!?"

Anna was also surprised to see a smiling Aqua standing at the foot of our bed. After some quick explanation and switching out of our pajamas, the 3 of us quickly met Warrick and Aqua in my office where they were sitting in the loveseat that I had put into the office next to the sofa and a single reclining chair. Warrick and Aqua were enjoying some tea prepared by Catherine the Maid, who was on night duty tonight. It was her and Aaron it seems.

" Ah, good to see you're all dressed. The Little Maid told us that you just returned from Darkheim last night, John. Sorry to spring this on you, but our hands were tied."

Warrick was apologetic as he spoke in-between sips of his tea. Aqua on the other hand seemed to have switched dispositions. She was somewhat happy when she woke us up, but now she seemed somewhat melancholic as she looked out the window as the sun began to rise in the sky and people began to wake up and exit their houses to start their day. Sarah, Anna and I sat next to each other on the couch as we waited to see what Warrick and Aqua had to say.
