" ZZzzz..."

I began to sneak up behind my target as quietly as possible. All the while thanking whatever God will hear me that the target is sleeping. It just makes my job so much easier.

* Stab!*

/ Splash. Spill.../

Thankfully, the lookout was sitting in a chair that oversaw the area we were sitting at. One stab through the base of his skull and the Demon was done. His blood began to pour out of the hole that my dagger made. I signaled the group from the cave tunnel that I had done my part of the plan. Basically, it was a simple idea. Clear out all of the lookouts we could find, then have Luke, Laura, and Jessie use spells to set this area on fire as best they can to disturb the camp. Once they're in a panic, rushing for escape, we have Jaime use her spells to bring down the crystals and hopefully kill off a good portion of the Demons that were here. We could return at a later date to collect any artifacts or materials that the Demons were keeping here. After that, we could send a decent enough report back to Whitestone for the King to use for his propaganda or whatever else he needs us taking out these Demons for. Admittedly, it's not the greatest plan, but after looking around, we couldn't see any Humans anywhere at all. No prison cells or the like either in case anyone was captured. Ms. Alexis isn't going to be too happy to hear that those Adventurers really are gone, but there's not much we can do about it now. We can only avenge them as best as we can.

" There you go..."

I mumbled to myself as I saw Laura handle the enemy she picked out. It was quick and clean; I gave her one of my daggers and she stuck it in the Demon's head. Now that she's done that, I could see that she was the last one to accomplish the goal. We've taken out 4 of the lookouts that are sitting on perches all around the area. They were handmade and quite rickety to walk on. It made me wonder how the Demons with all of their different body types were able to stabilize the perches for the different guards to stand or sit on them. Regardless, phase one of the plan was finished. Now moving on to the next step. It was simple really. The geography of this area in the cave was somewhat weird. it was built almost like a bowl. And as the walls rose up like the sides of a bowl, there were paths to walk all around the place with different cliffs at different elevations and also multiple pathways to walk as well. The only issue with this setup was the fact that there were many vantage points an enemy could use. Which is why they have lookouts placed around the area. However, whoever was the one making the decisions about the lookouts only made 8 for some reason.  From our count there were 8 lookouts. 4 at the very top and 4 at around halfway down into what could be called a valley in this area of the cave. Honestly, the size of this place is awe inspiring.

/ bump!/

I jump from the watchtower as gently as I can and land as softly as possible. We all left our target's bodies still standing or sitting where they were originally positioned. I quickly drop down the cliff that I was on to make it to the next pathway.

/ bump!/

" Okay... This is doable... What about the others though?"

I couldn't help but voice my thoughts as I landed on the floor of the cliff that was directly below my previous position. I looked around to see that the 3 others landed onto the same level as me. We needed to keep dropping down and then negate the enemies from having eyes all around this area. A few more drops and I eventually made it to the next target.

* Stab.*

A quick stab to the base of the skull of the Demon and my mission was done. I looked around and was able to see that Luke was the last one to kill his target this time. Now that we had finished this, we could finally move on to stage 2 of our plan. Quite simply it was just to get into position for everyone to do their job. Ashley is going to protect Jaime so she can concentrate on her spell when it comes to that. As for me, I need to circle back to Jaime and Ashley so I can help protect Jaime along with Ashley. It's a simple job for us, well... As long as Demons don't run for the tunnel. Which could be possible, but I doubt the Demons chose this location with only one entrance and exit to it. Regardless, now that I've finished my part, I need to start headin-

" Walin! It's time to change shifts! Get your ass out here!"

A gruff, deep voice interrupted my thoughts. How could this be? I didn't see anyone coming up to this perch while I was moving towards it!

" Walin! Are you asleep up there again! Don't make me go up there and ring your neck!"

Great! Now he's getting angry. I need to do something quickly.

/THUMP!/

" What!?"

" !"

Before I could do anything, a loud thumping sound reverberated off of the walls to the back of the perch and the monstrous face of a giant, light-pink colored Demon covered in scars with lifeless, dead eyes staring at me from the other side of the small wall of the perch.

" Human!?"

/ THUMP!/

The Demon landed back on its feet back on the floor and I saw it quickly reach into a pocket on its pants and pulled out some small looking box from it. I didn't need it to do anything to realize that it was about to do something I didn't want it to. By the time I jumped down and attempted to attack the Demon to stop it from doing anything, it was too late. He pressed some button on the box, and I knew I was too late as I was rushing to the ground from midair.

/ POP! thump!/

By the time I had landed in front of the Demon, the loud popping sound I heard signaled the end of the element of surprise that I head. Now I had to figure out what I can do next... Well, I say that, but I already know what it is I need to do. I need to fight this Demon now before more show up. I drew the extra dagger I put on my belt after I gave my usual 2nd one to Laura. As I drew the green blade out of its sheath, I couldn't help but be thankful that I decided to bring this dagger with me this morning.

" How dare you kill him! He was young! He just turned 17 last month!"

/ SHING!/

The Demon's voice dripped with rage and grief as he drew his broadsword and swung it at me. He's mad, that's the most important thing! I can use that; I need to use it!

" His youth explains why I was able to kill him so easily. Perhaps you should train your men better?"

" YOU!"

/ SHING! SHING! SHING!/

The Demon continued to swing his sword more and more as he tried to cut me into pieces. Thankfully, the massive size of this Demon does impact his speed. I dodged and dodged until I could almost be sick of it. But the proof that it was the right move came quite quickly to me.

/ SHING! BANG! CRACK!/

" AH!"

I was able to lead the Demon closer and closer to the wall behind us until he wound up for a big swing of his sword. I quickly got out of the way and the Demon couldn't stop the momentum of his sword. It hit the wall that must've been made of quite dense and solid stone as the blade cracked immediately. The Demon dropped his weapon as well. And I couldn't possibly let an opportunity like that slip by.

* Stab! Stab!*

" AH!"

I quickly stabbed the Demon in the back and used the grip I gained from lodging my first dagger into the Demon's back to bring myself up to stab him in the back of the neck. I can finish this! I can win quickly! I began to pull my daggers out of the Demon's back but as I did, I heard the Demon begin to scream.

" Damn you!"

* Grip!*

/ SWOOSH!/

" WOAH!"

/ Swoosh! Thump! Screech!/

I thought the fight was already over, but the Demon disagreed. I was grabbed by my arm and thrown with great force. If it wasn't for the fact that I was wearing a lightweight metal armor, he would've crushed my arm. I need to find a way to end this fight quick! I can already hear the sounds of Demons running up to this location! Thoughts of how to kill this already wounded Demon flooded my mind. I need to end this as quick as possible! And I have just the Skill to do it! I could already feel my mana beginning to flow into my daggers as my mana blade began to activate.
