I thought for a moment, I could see that Lieutenant Dagna was waiting for a reply, I suppose I should just start with a simple introduction.

" It's a pleasure to meet you, Lieutenant Dagna. My name is Marquess Matthew Drake. I'm here because I've been commanded to aid in the fight against the Elves. These are My Wives behind me, Sarah and Anna."

" Yes, I've heard a great deal about you, Marquess Drake. As well as your wives, Former 1st Princess Sarah Dreadnaught and your former Personal Maid, Anna, right? A pleasure to meet you all."

He continued to flash his smile. It looks like he doesn't plan on dropping it. His armor looked quite worn out. A sign that he's seen battle recently. It looks like it hasn't been smooth sailing here at the Border, but how could it be? They're basically like the Soldiers that fought in World War 1 back in my world. The stress of knowing that only a small amount of distance is between you and the enemy and that everyday is another opportunity for them to launch an attack... I can only imagine the stress... After I introduced the 3 of us, Sarah and Anna seemed to get the picture that I didn't want to let the Lieutenant know that I know what side he's on. With this, I guess I just need to wait and see what he'd like to do at this point? Most likely show us to our rooms or speak to the Chief Of Staff? I'll just have to wait and see I guess?

" Well, instead of standing out here, why don't we head to the mess hall? We can announce that you've arrive-"

" Hold it, Dagna!"

Just as the Lieutenant was about to finish his suggestion, a somewhat authoritative voice interrupted him. I turned to look at the source of the voice and I saw a Demon with light blue skin, green lips, black hair in a crew cut and harsh, cold gray eyes staring at us.

" Ah! Captain Martin, what seems to be the issue?"

" You know damn well the issue, Lieutenant. The Chief made it quite clear, once the Marquess made his way here, we were to take the Marquess to him. The mess hall is empty anyways, it's fucking 2 pm! Stop with the silly shit! The Elves are still attacking every hour on the hour! Get to the men!"

With a no nonsense attitude, the guy... Captain Martin? He dressed down the Lieutenant and told him to get back to his men? I guess he acts as a leader of some sort? I'm not too familiar with the way that the Borders operate, maybe he's right? I guess he is?

" Ah, Captain Martin? Aren't you acting quite haughty? Did that promotion get to your head? It's almost like you've forgotten that I'm the one who trained you when you were a welp..."

" I was given this job after the previous Captain died in combat against the Elves. Like I've said before, Lieutenant, if you have a problem with me fulfilling the position of Captain."

/ Shing!/

" If you have cause to believe that I'm not worthy of the position... By all means, Lieutenant. There's a Marquess right here, he's a High-Ranking Member of our Military Alliance, he can serve as the witness to this duel. No need to hint or hide through shit jests. We can handle this now!"

The Captain drew the blade at his side, the Lieutenant's smile finally faded from his face. It looks like the relationships around here might be more tense than I anticipated... Could it always be like this? Or is it because of the pressure and stress of being in a warzone for so long?

/ SHING!/

Killing intent began to leak from the Captain as the Lieutenant drew his own blade.

" We could kill each other over this, Captain Martin..."

/ Skirt!/

" But we need all of the help we can get at the moment. It'd be foolish to kill each other right about now. You should relax more, Captain Martin. That battle readiness is great for battle and the like, but it's also how we Demons end up dying young."
