" And to the Shadows we may return, with Honor and Valor."
" With Honor and Valor."
The crowd chanted back the ending phrase of the Priest that currently was preforming a Pre-Battle Ritual. It was the day before we would set out to battle the Elves... It looks like a Priest from the Faith Of The Dark Gods is actually stationed at each Border for whatever is needed, from confessions to comfort to the dying. As for this situation, it looks like before a big battle, a Preist holds a mass to inspire the troops. It seemed a good thing to me. Everyone was deep in prayer during this Ritual, even Sarah and Anna, who usually would keep their prayers very private, were very quiet. Usually they would just visit the local Church in Paradise whenever they saw fit... If I had to give it a number... I'd say it'd be something like once every 2 weeks or so? However, today... Even an outsider just passing by could tell that they were concentrating heavily as they held their hands together. It just goes to show how serious the situation is. Even if I do personally feel ready for the fight, that doesn't mean it will all go well. I thought I'd be able to escape nice and easy back in Darkheim and I nearly lost my life in the attempt. If it wasn't for the trees, who knows what would've happened to me? I shook my head as I tried think happier thoughts. Eventually, I heard Ruby begin to mumble a few words.
" Protection.... Safety.... Prevention...."
Along with Sarah and Anna, Ruby, Flare and Edmon were also praying quite hard. I knew that Ruby was quite a devout follower of the Faith Of The Dark Gods, pretty much every day after training, she'd head to the local Church to pray, unless there was something she had to do related to her job. Granted, I tried to account for her time at Church when but I didn't know much about Flare and Edmon's views on it. Though from here, it looks like that Religion was an important part of their lives.
" Home... Family... Honor..."
Edmon seemed to mumble out his prayers as well. Now that I really took a look around, I think I'm the only one who hasn't begun to pray. I quickly put my hands together to blend in. It's not like I can't pray or anything, but I doubt Catholicism is even known here in Gaia? Maybe instead... I may as well try, right? I mean... She counts?
.
.
.
" Of course I count! And I can't answer your question completely, all I will say is that My Father and Mother are related to every God and Myth you've ever heard about. Even with the creation of the Gods and Goddesses of various concepts there in Gaia, they've had a hand in their creation as well."
" This seems like a lot of information thrown at me because I wanted to blend in..."
Of course I prayed to Angela, since I had a feeling she would answer me... Granted, now that I'm here, I'm trying to piece together what she just told me... Sure, on the surface it doesn't seem like a big deal, but still... And not just that... But for some reason... Angela seemed a little... Down? Her tone of voice... It wasn't as bouncy as usual? Now it was like... I caught her on a sick day or something?
" Oh, don't worry, like I said, I kept it vague for you."
" That's vague?"
" Compared to the entire process, yes. What I told you... It's like reading an instruction manual in a long-forgotten language."
" That sounds complicated... But also, it makes me curious..."
" Well, you should've thought about that before contacting me with questions in your mind. Still, to fulfill that curiosity, would you like me to answer any other questions?"
Angela read my mind and tried to assuage my worry.
" Sure... Though I'm not sure what I could ask at this point..."
