Chapter 450. Eve's Relief

" With all of that said, we'll be able to begin our invasion in 3 weeks' time."

" Good, keep me updated on the troops morale, if I need to make an appearance, let me know."

" Yes, Sir!"

/ Step. Step. Step. Creak! Pomf!/

With the sound of the door closing, General Amal left Uncle Cain's Office. The conversation they have just had was about the movement of our troops heading into Diablos. We have a somewhat special tactic we can use to advance them quite quickly, the only down side is that the tactic would only work once. Because of that, we've decided to invade like any other assault the country's military would use. To start with we'll send somewhat fast scouts to take a look at the enemy's positions and then plan from there. We've decided to observe the Western Border of Diablos to see how tightly defended it is. Once we've gotten the needed information, all signs point to it being the place the main invasion will begin. Currently in the office, Uncle Cain was reviewing the paperwork that General Amal had given him. The reports covered a wide range of topics, including but not limited to, logistics, artillery reports, weapon counts, the types of magic that each platoon will be capable of using, geography of the areas we were going to be marching through, along with the list of the creatures we'll be expected to encounter and even the most up to date information about the current leaders of the Diablos Royal Military, which includes the Commanders of the Borders we'll inevitably be conquering as we make our way to Blackstone, the capital city of Diablos. Once we've done that, Darkheim and those insults to the name Elf will be next, then we can easily crush Bestia with their lack of Magic Users.

" Uncle, are the reports really so dire?"

Shane had asked Uncle a question, I could see why, it looks as if Uncle had ended up reading something that greatly displeased him. I've asked Uncle the same question before a few times, but the answer was always the same.

" It's classified, Shane."

" I'm a Prince though?"

" Take it up with your father. I can't even show Eve this and she's actually been involved in a few military affairs already... Gods."

Uncle Cain began to look as if a headache was beginning to set in as he continued to read the reports on top of his desk. Shane looked displeased by Uncle's reasoning, but it's not as if we could do anything about it. Even in the military, I'm simply an Officer, I've yet to receive a rank since all I've done is take part in a few monster subjugations. I did earn a medal, but that's only because my squad had been put to sleep by that Dryad's sleep charm... Those idiotic men were making fun of me behind my back before we entered that forest. Then, because they couldn't handle the fact that I saved them, in their reports they thought it'd be funny to christen me " War Maiden", the thing they jokingly referred to me as before we entered the forest. And unfortunately for me, the name stuck... And now nearly everyone uses the name... I should see if I could make them fight on the front lines during the first few battles? No... That wouldn't be right, even if it would be nice...

" I still can't believe it..."

Uncle Cain muttered something before closing the reports in front of him. He placed it neatly on top of the small mountain of paperwork in front of him and then he looked to a still somewhat disappointed Shane.

" Look, if you really want to know, ask your father or brothers. I'm sure one of them will tell you, it just can't be me since I'm a leading figure in the army. For me to reveal it to you is still treasonous. No matter how ass backwards that is. Or, maybe during your first few campaigns, you achieve something great and you achieve a high rank. Remember that's also possible after all of the training you've done. You may still be green, but I don't think you'll be killed unless you run into any of the big players in our enemies ranks."
