/ Shing! CLANG!/

The Demon didn't wait for me to start an exchange, he quickly picked up the broken blade that laid at his feet and continued to swing it at me. The irony being that what was once a massive sword a Human would need 2 hands and a great amount of strength to even lift let alone swing, was now still around the length of a greatsword. Either way that didn't stop him from trying to kill me with it. Now that the blade weighed a good amount less, he was able to swing it faster and with better control. Now instead of just dodging, I needed to parry his swings with my daggers in the right way for both my daggers sakes and mine. Thankfully, Bridgett had taught me well. That and my mana blade helps strengthen my daggers.

" You're going to die here!"

/ CLANG!/

His anger is growing. And he's swinging as hard as he can. Even as the blood was flowing down on the ground from the 2 wounds I was able to deal to him. I wished it was affecting his speed, but the constitution of Demons is something special. I'm just glad that we're all the same when it comes to needing to breathe and needing to protect our brains and eyes. It feels like those are the only saving grace for me when it comes to fighting them. It's a target to aim for. Speaking of which.

/ Thump! Clang!/

" Damn."

" You're too weak!"

I jumped and attempted to cut either the Demon's throat or stab his eyes. But his reflexes were still good enough to stop me. I guess I really am going to need to use one of my skills after all. Oh well... You need to do what you need to do.

/ SHING! Thump!/

" Woah!"

While I was looking for an opening to use one of my skills, the Demon tried to slash me with his broken sword. I was able to dodge, but now things were beginning to get too close for comfort. I activated my skill after jumping back a few feet. I could feel my feet beginning to strengthen as the skill called Fleet Foot began to activate. It's a simple skill... Well, I say skill, but it's actually a spell. I imbue my mana into my feet, and it makes me move faster. I took one step and could already feel the difference, and so could he.

/ Thump! Thump! Thump!/

And here's the reason I don't like to use Fleet Foot as much. I can't control the strength of my feet too well yet. I left deep imprints of the boots I'm wearing in the solid ground of the cave. I could end up destroying my boots if I'm not careful. Hell, when I first used this skill, I ended up tearing off my toenails from trying to spar while using it. Thankfully, Laura was able to heal me. After training a bit, I've been able to make it to where I only leave imprints in the ground, but when Bridgett uses this skill, she doesn't even make a sound as she moves. It's annoying, but it's also a goal to aim for at least. Also, it seems that the more you use it, the more you can draw out more and more speed, Bridgett absolutely trounced me to the point I couldn't even see her doing it when she used this, I can only hope that the Demon is feeling the same sense of befuddlement that I did. And it did look to be the case.

" You're just a rabbit running from a wolf!"

/ SWOOSH!/

He tried to cut me in half with his broken sword again, but it didn't work. I was able to dodge it pretty easily.

/ THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!/

I ran around him as he was bent over from his swing. The excitement in being able to get to an advantageous position made me lose control. My footsteps reminded me of the sounds of a jackhammer breaking through a street back in my world. But I couldn't sit and worry about it right now. My feet felt fine, my boots were still balanced. That was good enough.
