/ Clang!/
* Stan!*
" Ah!"
Another Elf fell. To think they'd fight this hard to stop us from getting to the blue smoke Group. Elf after Elf tried to stand in our way. I'd put emphasis on the " try part of that sentence, considering the 4 of us have been able to cut through them like a hot knife through butter. This armor... These wings... I haven't been able to make them flap and cause me to fly, but I'm pretty sure they're increasing my speed as I begin to learn how to work them. More or less, it gives me a basic increase in speed, but if I flap them as I move, it makes me and by extension, probably everyone who uses them, accelerate even faster than usual. Anna seemed to grasp this as well as I've seen her begin to try and flap her wings as she moves, Flare and Ruby haven't seemed to grasp this little intricacy of the spell. Maybe it's because we're the Wives of the Spell Castor that we've been able to figure it out? Either way, it's made quite the difference as we continued on our way to our destination. My halberd is covered in Elf blood from the 5 or 6 I've slain.
" AH!"
And right next to me, it looks like Ruby was finished with her opponent. With the 2 of us working as the front liners, Flare and Anna have been having an easy time of it as they simply follow behind us and occasionally place a well-timed spell on the chests or backs of an Elf or 2. Together, we were quite close to where that smoke signal went up. The terrain didn't look much different, but the quality of mana that I was perceiving certainly was. It's powerful... Not the strongest I've ever felt, but it's certainly a bit more than my own. It makes me glad that I brought Anna, Ruby and Flare. In a one on one fight, we'd probably all lose, some would do better than others, maybe escape, but that's not an option in this war. What we need to do now is eliminate the threat. John floated the idea of capturing one of the members of the Elves' 2 groups, it took Anna and I up until the day before we made it to the Western Border to convince him that a no tolerance policy around the 10 Great Elves and the High Elf Blades. It could be considered our greatest victory so far in this war. To think he would actually think to fight the enemy's best soldiers with a hand tied behind his back? It's almost like he wants to make Anna and I widows!
/ Thump!/
" DIE!"
Ah, perfect! Just as I was beginning to feel irritated, an Elf came at me from the left of our position.
/ Flap!/
* Stab!*
" Ah!"
It didn't take much to make the stress relief fall, one thrust of my halberd and I was able to replace his organs with a hole through his torso. And I was right, I feel better now.
/ Rumble!/
" !"
" Sarah!"
Ruby called for me, she didn't need to since I was feeling the same thing she was. It looks like we've finally gained the attention of the enemy. Fairsword... It makes me wonder what kind of weapon he uses? It might be ironic if Ruby was the one to land the killing blow on him with her own sword.
/ Swoosh! Clang!/
" Err..."
All of a sudden, a whirlwind came flying at us. It was a spell. Ruby quickly brought her sword up to cut through the magic, but it seems that for some reason, Ruby, who's never had an issue cutting through any Wind Magic that I would throw at her, was having an issue with this spell.
" Really now? You're having an issue blocking that basic of a Spell, are you?"
Just as Ruby seemed to making some headway against the spell, a haughty, somewhat light voice that sounded like a man who carries himself with an air of selfishness had asked a strange question to Ruby. It didn't take a genius to tell that this was probably our target for the day. If Ruby's tribulation was anything to go by at least.
