" What... The hell... Was that!?"

" Lord Matthew's enemy must've decided to end their fight. It looks like it's his Strongest Magic. It'll be fine, Lord Matthew will defeat the elf, let's get back to focusing on this one."

" You..."

I looked at him with a bit of a side eye... Those orbs in the sky that could put some castles to shame... And he's saying that Marquess Drake can handle it...

" On what basis do you think he can do it?"

I couldn't help but ask... I mean, where does this faith come from? The kid was able to hold his own while Captain Martin was sparring him, but I doubt either of them were going all out... I know for sure Martin wasn't. Yet... He thinks that the kid could deal with that magic? I would need to rush down the opponent in a suicidal attack to try and take the opponent down or die trying.

" What basis? I suppose an outsider wouldn't really get it, I don't know if it's even worth trying to explain to you..."

" Look, I'm here fighting the same enemy, you don't think you could enlighten me on why you have such trust in him? He's a Human after all."

Dammit... I did it again... Wait... Why do I even feel bad about it? He is a human... I know my history, they've done so much to Our People... He and his people are the strange ones for acting like this all over such a young human doesn't make sense... Is it loyalty to the Royal Family? I know Princess Sarah is his 1st wife, but that wouldn't explain the faith in him... What the hell is going on in their town to cause this? I guess the look in my eyes said everything, he looked at me, even though I could tell that he only felt annoyed at me and began to speak.

" Look, I don't expect you all to get it, but at the end of the day he wa-"

Just as Edmon was about to answer my question, a spear made of rock came flying at us from a good distance in front of us. When we looked, we could see the elf we were fighting. At first the fight between us and him had been going normally, we were using our numbers advantage to gain ground, just as I was about to land a powerful swing to end the battle, that fire orb came flying down from the sky and caused that awful explosion. Edmon and I ran for the hills, we got swept up in the explosion, but with his abilities, he was able to keep an eye on the position of the elf as we ran for cover. And just like he said, we stood where we were and the elf did attack us eventually.

" Just attacking us out of the blue? Not very honorable of you, elf."

" I can't waste time with you 2 anymore, I need to return and help Lieutenant Colonel Lee! You're in my way! And I'm going to get you out of it!"

* Tighten!*

" Brave words for someone who couldn't land a strike on either of us so far!"

I couldn't help but tighten my grip on my metal club, the elf seems to be slipping somewhat. This put me in a good mood, if he's this impatient that means what the other elf did is out of the ordinary for them. Maybe that human is a bit more of a fighter than I thought he was? Well, he seems to be handling his opponent, I suppose we should do the same.

" We'll stick to the plan, I'll get his attention again, bash him with your club."

" Sure thing. Let's go!"

I was almost too happy to resume the fight, if we capture this one, then the enemy army would be leaderless along with the human's elf being beaten as well, with that, it would be a simple affair to trounce the remains of the elven army and that would mean that this day would end in an inarguable victory for Diablos. And all that's stopping that from becoming a reality is this elf's ability to dodge my swings. But that won't be the case from now on, I'm more than warmed up and ready to prove why I'm a Lieutenant at the Western Border. Not just that, but as a Demonic Club User, it's a matter of pride to smack this elf into unconsciousness with my club and I have just the Skill to use.
