Chapter 503. Chief Sharp

The metal door was opened by Captain Martin, it looks like upkeep wasn't a matter of concern for the Western Border since the door creaked terribly as he opened the door for us. After the door was fully opened, Captain Martin motioned with his hand for us to walk in. Without much concern I walked into the office with Sarah and Anna following me as if they were my shadows. The first thing I noticed was the lack of paperwork on the desk that was directly in front of me. However, the person sitting at the desk did have a small folder in his hands. I could see from behind the folder that the person had 2 long, sharp looking horns protruding from his forehead. Along with that, I could see that the person was deeply interested in what he was reading... Maybe it's a report on the current situation?

" Oh... Babe... I miss you..."

Huh? What did I just hear him mumble?

" Ah hem!"

With a sharp cough, Captain Martin seemed to alert his boss that we were here. Before long, Captain Martin began to speak after clearing his throat.

" Chief Sharp, I've arrived with Marquess Drake, as ordered."

" Huh!? Oh!"

/ Thoomp!/

With speed that needed to be seen to be believed, the person at the desk quickly threw the folder he was looking at into a drawer in his desk. Now that I could get a good look at him, the man had orange skin and one big green eye... Wait... Orange skin? One eye? Horns?

" Ah hem... Hello, I'm Chief Of Staff Stanley Sharp, it's a pleasure to meet you all. Marquess Drake, Princess Sar-"

" I'm no longer a Princess, Chief Sharp."

 His introduction broke my train of thoughts, I felt like I was close to realizing something... Then I heard Sarah interrupt him.. I looked to her and was surprised to see that she had a frown on her face. And it wasn't just her, Anna was also frowning... It looks like Sarah has already gotten fed up with people referring to her as a Former or Current Princess. And it looks like Anna is just grumpy from all of this still. Looks like this was the straw that broke the camel's back for the 2 of them... I looked at the man, Chief Sharp, and he had a small grin on his face.

" Hahaha! You're just like Crest described! Sorry, sorry! You're now just Sarah Drake, Wife of the newly established Human Marquess of Diablos, aren't you!? The same to you as well, Anna Drake?"

" Wait? Crest? You know Crest, Chief Sharp?"

I heard a familiar name, I haven't seen him since Our Wedding, but I still count Crest as a good friend and one of my Teachers back when I was training for the Hero Party. I quickly asked how Chief Sharp knew Crest, but looking at him... Orange skin, Horns... One big green eye...

" Of course I know Crest! He's my Son-In-Law!"

" You're Paul's Father?"

" Yes, my boy has told me all about your days training for the Hero Party. You know, it took a while for him to get over not being able to go with you to fight the Hero Party. It wasn't until he heard that you all returned safely that he was able to relax. I've always wanted to meet the guy that became such fast friends with My Son!"

Now I get why I couldn't shake the feeling I knew him. Paul only told me his full name once, I couldn't recall it since I just think of him as " Paul". I didn't think of him as Paul Sharp. Now it makes sense. Sarah and Anna seemed to also relax... Whether this was due to realizing that Chief Sharp was Crest's Family, or because of him acknowledging them as just My Wives was something I didn't know the answer to at the moment.
