An explosion rang all over the cage. Everyone seemed to pause for a moment as we all took in the sight. The flames had surrounded Jessie and then seemingly consumed him and collapsed in on themselves until they exploded. The horror at seeing how Dragon Flames kill an enemy was shocking to say the least. However, the Dragon wasn't shocked at all, this was just a regular day for it... Except maybe it viewed the 6 of us... The 5 of us as annoying flies. Either way, we need to find a way to beat this thing... Or run...
" Guys! Wake up! We need to fight back! Now!"
I yelled out to the fool and Lucy who were standing there astounded at what just happened. We can grieve at the loss later! We need to survive first.
" Hm?"
" Ah!"
The fool seemed to be too lost in what just happened, but Lucy seemed to get the idea.
/ Thump!/
" Hey! I'm switching in! Get Luke out of here if he can't fight! Jaime's going to start an aerial assault with her magic! Let's get moving!"
As soon as Lucy seemed to have come to, Ashley appeared next to us. Her mana was fierce, almost palpable, it looks like she's already activated a Skill from her Dragon Style... I wonder if the Dragon Style is useful for slaying Dragons? I guess we're about to find out?
" Got it!"
/ Thump!/
Lucy responded to what Ashley said and quickly grabbed the fool. She attempted to use her speed to get away, but the Dragon had other plans.
/ SNAP! CLICK! SWOOSH!/
" Huh!?"
" Look out!"
/ THump!/
Before I had a chance to react, the Dragon had snapped it's claws again and sent another blast of fire from it's claws. It almost got me, if it wasn't for the fact that Ashley quickly jumped onto me and got us both out of the way.
" GAAHHH!"
It looks like we weren't even the targets... Just obstacles that it hop[ed would also get hit... The fire traveled past us in a thin line before hitting Lucy and the fool.
" Lucy! Luke!"
Ashley called out to them. We quickly stood up as fast as we could...!
" Look!"
I called out to Ashley, there was half of a giant stone wall where the 2 siblings were... The rubble that must've been the other half seemed to have collapsed from the strength of the Dragon's fire.
" Jaime did it!"
I quickly connected the dots. I couldn't see them, but Jaime would be the only one that could respond that quickly and make such a big shield for the both of them... I just hope she wasn't too late.
/ CRASH! THUD!/
" !"
Just as one problem had been created, another seemed to have followed. Something fell from the sky. It crashed into the ground and there was a sickening thud that followed the crash. I turned to look expecting to see a Monster of some kind, instead to my... No to both Ashley and I's shock, it was Jessie. He was covered in blood and his once pristine steel armor was gone, there were still fragments of it on his body, but for the most part it was all gone... I remember him saying that his armor was made to resist magic and the elements once... It looks like that might be the reason he's still alive? We didn't have the time to rush over to him however, the Dragon was looking to make it's next attack, it looks like it was trying to figure out who to attack, Ashley and I, or Jaime who had taken to floating in the air on a rock and had begun circling the Dragon from above.
