John Ericsson's Point Of View
After looking around the Barracks for a few hours, Del, Lady Kate and I found 8 Dark Elf Enchanters that would be willing to give the cabin a look. Once we were sure they'd be okay with it, then we had to see when they'd be able to leave. Thankfully, it looks like they weren't as busy as the movements in the Barracks would appear and were more than happy to come back to Paradise with Charlotte and I. So, after they grabbed their necessities, we all met back in the Throne Room where King Leonard, Queen Crystal and Charlotte waited for us. Once our group had arrived, Del and Lady Kate had walked over to the bottom of the steps that led up to King Leonard and Queen Crystal's Thrones. Once they were in position, King Leonard and Queen Crystal took a look at the Dark Elves that decided to come with us back to Paradise.
" Hmm... I see, so a squad of 8? Are you sure you'll be alright bringing them to Paradise?"
" Yes, I was able to go to Blackstone with Sarah, Anna, Charlotte. Compared to that, the distance between Darkheim and Paradise is like I'm taking a vacation. I could probably take around 20 people with me right now, actually."
" Hm? What Advancement Level are you, Matthew?"
" Hm? I'm at Intermediate Level, Queen Crystal?"
" Are you serious!?"
Queen Crystal was shocked by what I said. I guess it could be a bit surprising. Everyone who's ever seen me Summon Paula and have her open a portal or if I open the portal myself seems to think its outrageous. But I mean, it's all thanks to my Holy Mana at the end of the day. Besides, Aqua is way more impressive, I mean she warped up to Bestia which is in the Northwestern part of the world and is even further from Diablos than Promethia. Comparing that to me just bringing us back to Paradise is even lesser than child's play.
" Are you comparing yourself to Aqua, by chance, Matthew?"
Queen Crystal seemed to tell what I was thinking? I nodded to her question to show that she was right.
" Matthew, I'd hate to ruin your idea of normalcy, but Aqua could put most genius Dark Elf Mages... No, scratch that, I think there's only around 6 or 7 Elves in general that could match Aqua when it comes to skill with spells and mana. You're comparing yourself against a once in a lifetime talent when it comes to Aqua. And when it comes to long lived Races like Demons and Dark Elves or Elves, that's quite a lot of years... Perhaps it would be better explained as a once in a millennia talent in Human terms? Do you understand what I'm trying to say?"
" Yeah, Aqua's incredible... And so is Warrick now that I think about it? I remember them mentioning that in terms of combat ability they're even..."
" I see you've missed the point somewhat... Is it even worth trying to get it through to you? If he's like this... How are the girls supposed to even make any headway with him?"
Queen Crystal mumbled something, but I was too busy thinking about the fact that Warrick and Aqua gave us that win back while we were training for the Hero Party... It makes me start to wonder just how strong they are... I mean, Warrick and Aqua have been holding back whenever they fought against me and the others. I wonder if I could ever get Warrick to fight me seriously one day? Maybe that should be my long term goal for my training? Though there was a question that popped into my head from what Queen Crystal said.
" Say, Queen Crystal, you said that there's 7 Elves that can go toe to toe with Aqua, right?"
" Yes, as in from both our people and Alfheim, I believe that there are 7 in all. 3 for us Dark Elves and 4 for the Elves in Alfheim."
