John Ericsson's Point Of View.
" Well, it looks like everything is going swimmingly. Hm, hm!"
" Whatever, this proves nothing."
/ Cling!/
" Fufufu. As a warning to the young ones in this room, remember to gamble responsibly!"
" Using your familiarity with him to win a bet like this is dirty, Aqua."
" Well... I am a Demon after all."
With Aqua winking to Queen Andrea, it was easy to see what had happened. To think she'd gamble whether or not I'd accept the betrothal... Gambling on the success of a Political move that could cause massive consequences for the Alliance between our 3 countries is a bit... Insane? Immature? A and B? Regardless. At the end of the day, she chose what I would do... But I still feel like I lost something here.
" Hehehe..."
* Grip!*
Just as that thought had crossed my mind, I felt a strong grip wrap around the palm of my hand. Along with that, I heard a giggle similar to when a child finds something funny. When I looked at the source of it, I could see Alice was holding my hand near her face and was observing it closely...
" Alice? Is there something wrong with my hand?"
I asked the first question that came to mind. Alice seemed to not realize that my hand was apart of my body and her eyes quickly bulged from her head for a split second in surprise.
" Uhm... No, I was just trying to confirm something, I guess?"
" You guess?"
I was confused by her answer even more than her behavior.
* Poke. Poke. Poke.*
Now she's beginning to poke the back of my hand? Well, now I'm beginning to figure out what's happening. Sarah and Anna did the same thing after we got married. Most of our honeymoon in that nice lakeside cabin was spent with one of them attached to me. It was almost like someone superglued us together. I guess Alice is going through that phase right now. I don't mind, it seems like she's been holding back a lot of feelings for some time now. I guess I can give up a hand for now.
" Hmmm..."
Another sound was brought to my attention. it sounded like when a kid was disgruntled about something. Almost like a low-pitched growl than an actual hum. I looked around to see if I could find where it was coming from. To my surprise thought, it looks like I had 4 suspects. Cynthia, Asha, Sharon and Charlotte all seemed to be somewhat unhappy with what was happening in front of them. Now that I think about it, Charlotte has told me how because of her Jobs and how she's looked at because of them, she's yet to receive any offers of betrothal from any of her peers. I feel kind of bad now that I think about it. I mean, not only did a betrothal just become official in front of her eyes, but it looks like Alice is immensely happy with the fact that I'm her future husband... As for the other 3, relationships between the opposite sex has been the main topic of discussion when it comes to our letters. It's almost like they view the idea of getting married as a competition with their peers, so watching someone flirting so obliviously in front of them can't be making them happy... I should try to put an end to this for now.
" Say, Alice... I think you should be mindful of who's around us right now?"
" Hm? But Mother Andrea accepted the idea of our Betrothal..."
" No, not your Mother... I mean our friends."
" Hm? ... Heh."
* Release. Grip!*
