Chapter 457. Explaining Some Dreams

" I see. So Queen Andrea is still after my head... I wonder if apologizing will end this whole thing?"

" Why should you? It was Adam's fault in the first place!"

" Well, even if it was, Sarah, I'm still just a Foreign Marquess and I would've killed him if I had gotten near him. Still... I'm sorry I put you guys through that. All because I couldn't control myself. I'll reflect on this, I promise."

" Hmm..."

Asha quickly turned to look at me with the look that seemed to say " all they had to do was say that they were in a meeting to get him to apologize?". And all I could think is that she certainly does love him. I mean, I've never seen her get this upset when it comes to a man outside of her Father or her new little brother that was born 6 months ago. Regardless, she wasn't the only one who was a little miffed about his demeanor. I mean, we're his friends at the very least... He should at least worry about how we feel a little bit! There's even a Princess over here! But wait, he was about to tell us something before Sarah and Anna jumped on him. What it was that he was going to tell us seemed to be something quite serious. Maybe I should ask what it was? But I don't want him to feel like he "has" to tell us... Why does this feel so difficult for some reason?

" Hey! John! What was it you were about to tell us? And Sarah, Anna! Stop trying to get handsy with him, we're in a foreign country for crying out loud!"

Asha seemed to beat me to it... Though I think the 2nd part of her request may have more to do with jealousy more so than caring about proper decorum.

" Yes, John, what was it you were about to tell us? It looked like it was important, right Sharon?"

Charlotte repeated what Asha had asked, either out of genuine curiosity or jealousy, I wasn't too sure. To be honest, I don't know Princess Charlotte that well yet. I've only heard about her from Sarah, Anna and John's letters to me for the most part. I mean, Alice did also talk about her, but it didn't really give me a strong idea about who she is. She seems nice enough however. Regardless, I don't want to leave her without an answer to her asking for my support.

" Yes, he was interrupted, though I don't blame Sarah and Anna for wanting to see him as soon as possible... But still, if it's not too much trouble, could you tell us what it was you wanted to tell us, John?"

" Oh... Right..."

He placed his hands on top of Sarah and Anna's. They took the hint and let go of him. With that, he took a deep breath and the look on his face... Again it looked like it was something difficult to talk about.

" Sorry, I guess I think about this subject a bit lie it's very dire. Before I explain it to you guys, I need you to promise that you won't tell anyone about what I'll be telling you. Can you do that for me?"

All of us looked a little confused by what John had said... But eventually, Asha, Cynthia, Charlotte and myself all began to nod our heads...

" Okay... Oh, now that I think about it, I guess I'll be needing to have this conversation with Alice when she get's back as well? Anyways, let me begin. After I met Alice for the first time, I had to bring her with me to Paradise to take a look at Roseland Products..."

From there, John began to tell us about the dream he had and about how the Archangel Angela, the God who gave John her Favor and made him a Paladin, forbade him from telling anyone aside from those he trusts. I felt a warmth begin to fill my chest as he explained everything. It felt good to be trusted by him. But this dream of his... It's somewhat worrying. To hear him describe it, it's hard to believe something like a living shadow would attack him. I mean, what could that possibly be from? Obviously it must be from the past, but I just don't understand why no records exist about it... This is worrying. Even more so when the thought crossed my head... About why he decided to tell us about all of this.
