Chapter 498. Trying Out The Big Guns

/ Boom! Boom! Boom! BOom! BOOm! BOOm! BOOM!/

" Wow!"

" Yeah, Jaime's trying to make up for lost time. I can't believe she can use this many spells so quickly! Her training is really paying off!"

Jaime had begun to launch spell after spell and it looked as if each spell was ramping up in intensity. I could feel the walls themselves here in this cave were beginning to shake and rattle from the magic's shockwaves. Ashley was shocked at what Jaime was doing, but if you could sense her mana, you could tell that this was as simple as swinging a sword for her. Lucy was happy to fill in Ashley on what she's missed as she was focused on her Grappler training and learning more about that Dragon Style that she unlocked.

" I can tell... Hm... She really is fitting quite nicely into her role as the Mage of the Hero Party..."

Jessie spoke about Jaime's ability as well. She is quite powerful now. However, this isn't a one woman show. She'll need help soon.

/ THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!/

" ROOAAAAHHHHH!"

/ Thump!/

" WOAH!"

/ BANG! SMASH!/

And right on time, the Dragon had begun to lash out. It attempted to hit Jaime who was currently sitting on top of a foothold on the wall where she landed after falling with the rest of the back up. She must've decided she'd do more good attacking from a higher position. Which wouldn't have been a bad idea, but our enemy isn't normal. It's certainly one of the smarter Monsters that we've had to fight so far. Thankfully, Lucy and I had already seen what the Dragon would try to do. Before the Dragon even had a chance to swing it's tail, Lucy had used her enhanced speed and grabbed Jaime. All the Dragon did was simply make a large hole in the wall of this cave.

/ Thump!/

" How!!!???.... Oh? Lucy? You grabbed me? Thank you..."

" No problem! But wow, Jaime! You're so light! I could carry you all day like this!"

" Oh... Uhm...."

Lucy seemed to try to calm Jaime down, but it looks like her Bewitching Thief Job is beginning to effect Jaime. The way she's holding Jaime certainly isn't helping the situation. 

" Lucy, your Bewitching Mana needs to be controlled."

I dryly told Lucy about letting her Charming ability run out of control.

" Huh? Oh! Sorry Jaime! I didn't mean to-"

" No... No, it's fine... Kind of nice actually? But.... Can you let me down now, Lucy?"

Jaime seemed more and more confused as Lucy held her in a Princess Carry.

" Lucy! You look so cool like that! Like Prince Charming saving the girl at the end of the story! I want to dress you in men's clothes to see how'd you look! Let's do that after we head back to town!"

" Ash... Why are you so excited about this?"

" Well it's been so boring! Just training and fighting! We could use a girl's day out! Oh! I bet you'd look good in one of those Knight Uniforms that they wear in the palace! Your new Job is awesome!"

Ashley seemed really excited about the idea of dressing Lucy up... Maybe it's a hobby of hers? Regardless, we should probably save this for later?

" Ashley! Think about this later. Luke is the only one fighting the Dragon right now!"

Jessie called out to Ashley to put her back on track. It seemed to work since she seemed to have the look on her face as if she remembered why we were here in the first place... I guess that's a good thing? Jessie ran off to help the fool fight, it looks as if he's using some kind of Skill to match the speed of the Dragon. It's not as fast as Lucy's movement speed, but it looks like the Dragon is more wary about taking an attack from him. Maybe it's a quirk of the Hero Job?
