" Continuing on from there, Marquess Drake, the timing of your visit along with your 500 men is actually quite useful. You see, from the attacks we've dealt with, around 2,000 men and women were harmed and are stuck in the infirmary with various wounds. That's one way to get some of the men and women to gain a better opinion of you. Along with that, their friends as well."

" Okay, that's doable. I'll be able to have them all healed up by dinnertime most likely."

Chief Sharp's eyes went wide for a second as I calculated how long it would take me to heal everyone... Granted this is on a timetable that this conversation won't last for around 3 hours... Time will tell I guess?

" I'm assuming that'll only be possible if this conversation doesn't drag on... Unfortunately it will, Marquess Drake. You see, that's just one of the developments that have happened since the fighting started. The more important topic is what we've found out a few days ago. That being where the enemy is stationed."

" You've found their camp?"

" Yes, more specifically, it was Lieutenant Miles, he was under Captain Ross. One of the other 2 Captains you've yet to meet. He sent Lieutenant Miles along with a squad of 10 of our best. Only 2 made it back, Lieutenant Miles and a Solider, Private Harris, he's currently in the infirmary. He took 3 arrows to his back, I'm sure he'll be happy to see you seeing as the pain meds we've given him aren't enough. Apparently the arrows were laced with some kind of pain-giving spell. The Dark Elves tell me its based in an ancient torture method apparently."

" Don't worry, a Paladin's Healing Spell is quite powerful. Private Harris will be able to do one arm push-ups by bedtime."

" That's good to know."

The Chief seemed happy with what I've said. I guess the idea that one of the men who found out this important information was suffering was weighing on him somewhat. I guess in that way, it's a good thing I'm here. A good solider shouldn't be wallowing in pain because of successfully completing his mission.

" So they found the base of operations for the Elves? Where is it?"

" Around 50 miles Southwest of here, it's a big cave with an underground stream. Seems like thew perfect place for an enemy force to hide out."

" What's the plan?"

" We'll be sending a group of our men to attack the cave and see how many are there. The idea is to have a small skirmish that will shake the hornet's nest."

" So that way you can find out how many hornets are in the nest? Will you be having more men strategically placed around the cave to look for any enemies leaving exits you might not know about?"

" An additional 1000 soldiers will be positioned at strategic positions where they can rain down arrows and mark how many enemy soldiers there are. From there, a hunt will begin most likely."

" What about the Elves capacity for magic, is that taken into account for the 300 soldiers?"

" Yes, but really we don't need to when it comes to active combat."

" What do you mean?"

The information that Chief Sharp was sharing was pretty easy to keep up with. I actually appreciated the fact that for once, I wasn't the one coming up with the plans and having to look over maps to make sure everything would work out. Granted, I guess it's from having to work through so many plans, I ended up asking about the possibilities that would go through my head as I was thinking about a plan. Chief Sharp seemed to be amused by my last question, the reason being that I was surprised by what he said. He quickly began to explain it to me.
