Spidey watched the villain's retreating figure as he escaped, knowing that he would run into that madman again some day. Most likely after he's gotten an upgrade on his own weapons and learned more about how to fight......when that day came, the web head knew he'd be ready for it. But for now, he had to go check on the Blood Widow and Norman Jr to see if they were alright. So he jogs up to where they were hiding, opening the door for them. "You're all clear now. He's gone. For now at least." He tells them calmly, watching as the two slowly stepped out of the room..
The Oscorp owner readjusts the cuffs of his business suit, and looks at Spider-Man with guilt in his eyes. "Now he's going to hunt you down before he can go for me. I can't say that I'm ungrateful as that's untrue .... however, I feel horrible that you're now involved in my family's drama....." He tells the hero with remorse.
The web slinger shakes his head, showing no hostility towards the victim. "You didn't cause any of this to happen. Your brother just couldn't let go of a legacy that needed to stay dead. Besides, it's better that he goes after me anyway. At least that way there's a much lesser chance he'll ever get to you now." He tells Norman Jr, unafraid of what was to come.
Norman Jr simply nodded his head. "I....thank you Spider-Man. I am forever indebted to you for all you've done." He tells Spidey with gratitude.
"No you aren't. As long as you're safe, that's what matters.....though I do apologize for the damage caused around here." Spider-Man said sheepishly.
"It's quite alright. I've been meaning to redecorate my office anyway. I suppose now's a good a time as any to get started." The business man admitted as he readjusts the tie on his suit. "I do appreciate you helping me when you did. You and your friend Blood Widow saved my life today. At least allow me to.....well repay you in a small way." He requested, not wanting to let this go.
Spidey ponders the thought for a moment, unsure of what he should do. He understood that he shouldn't be accepting this.....but on the other hand, this man was insisting on this. "Well, if anything, I have one small thing....maybe I could borrow your lab for a bit? To work on a couple of upgrades?" He asked.
Norman Jr nodded without hesitation at his request. "Yes yes of course. You're free to use it and my resources whenever you need. We have more than enough. Don't ever worry about paying me back. It's on the house." He tells him with gratitude.
"Also....maybe you could help S.H.I.E.L.D with their tech instead? Kinda like what your brother did only less...evil. even if it's in the comfort of your own office it's fine." Will then asked, hoping he wasn't pushing any boundaries. In his mind, they needed someone who could provide any other help, and they seemed to need Oscorp for various things.
"I'll do all I can to help..... but..... knowing Chaotic Goblin, he's taken a lot of things he or I have made. For what purpose, I don't know. But I'll help them when needed. After all, it is the least I can do after how my brother caused so much trouble for all of you." The business man said without hesitation. "Thank you again for everything."
With that, Will went into one of the labs, already planning a small upgrade for his suit. 'I could have my Spider-Man suit camouflage.....that way I don't have to constantly have it bunched up when trying to hide it or when I need to change for gym.....plus, who knows? Maybe I'll need to camoflauge for certain fights.....' He thinks to himself as he starts to mess with his suit slightly, working on its functions while wearing it. Thankfully, his suit wasn't as heavy as an Iron Man armor, but had a little technological enhancement for certain things. Based on his experiences wearing it, it was meant to take some heavy damage and not tear easily, protecting him while still being mostly cotton with a thin technological support to protect from certain levels of gunfire.
Once he finished an hour later, the curly haired superhero steps out to see Ekaterina and the rest of the Avengers waiting for him, having just stayed with Norman Jr to assure he was safe. "I must admit, you've impressed me kid." Pym said with a hand on his shoulder.
"An understatement. You saved S.H.I.E.L.D from being destroyed from the inside....and more importantly, technically saved the world." Neiku added on, lightly punching the web head in the arm.
Sheagle smirks as she sees Spider-Man looking at them. "You show great promise as a warrior. Your instincts, your wit, and your skill set show you are quite capable." She complimented without hesitation.
James walks in front of him. "My dad has worked alongside your mentor for years and has said Spider-Man is a skilled hero.....after seeing what you're able to do, I'm understanding more about what he meant......" He tells him. "But there's a lot more you could do....."
"Are you saying you want me to join you?" Will asked with disbelief, trying to process what he was hearing.
"We could use a guy like you." Azuri said calmly, showing just how impressed he was with the spider themed superhero.
The wall crawler thinks about it for a long moment before finally answering. "I appreciate the offer.....but I don't think I'm ready to join you guys yet.....I have a lot to learn still......and even then, New York needs a hero who'll stick around. You guys are awful busy with your other missions......my mission is here for now." He answered without hesitation before walking away.
Coronal America immediately shows respect for the wall crawler as he watched his retreating figure web swing out a window. Respect for his honesty, respect for his humility, and respect for his code of honor. "If you ever change your mind.....the offer is always available." He said quietly as the Avengers headed back to the Quinjet.
Yvonne followed James with a smirk, feeling a sense of pride. "So? What did you think of him?" She asked.
The son of the first avenger smiles at his twin sister. "Even better than you described......I think he'll be ready to be an Avenger one day....on his own choice." He answered honestly as he sees the web head swinging through the city in the setting sun's view. "But for now....he feels New York is his responsibility.....so we accept that until he decides otherwise......
(Editor's note: this was meant to be a shorter chapter after the two longer chapters I've written. But at least I'm getting chapters out. Hope you're enjoying so far! :3)
