On a particularly quiet Thursday night, workmen were on a dock, getting crates off a ship for packages to be sent out to their proper destinations. The employees were all hard at work, nothing suspicious going on, until they hear a strange dripping sound. Nothing out of the ordinary.....until they realized that it hasn't rained in a while....there shouldn't be any water dripping from anywhere unless it was a leaky pipe. "Someone go check that out for me." The manager asked, sounding calm about the situation. Though admittingly, he was wishing that this wasn't happening now, when they had a deadline.
One of the workers went to check it out.....they were thankfully able to decipher where the noise was coming from....though this didn't make it any better, not make any sense. Somehow....the water was dripping from the rooftop....when there was no storm, and the waves were nowhere near strong enough to even reach the rooftop. Nothing was leaking....so why was there water dripping like that? That was the question on this worker's mind until he heard a very hushed whisper. "Mary Jane....." The voice whispered. "My Mary Jane.....gone forever......can't let that stand......" The voice continued, sounding...... completely devoid of sanity or logic.
The worker tries to get closer to the voice, trying to understand just what they were saying. The voice sounded male....but broken..... "Hello.....? Whoever you are.....are you alri-" but before he could even finish his question, a massive burst of water shot out and consumed the worker. The male struggled to get free from the random water that was now.....morphing somehow.....? Then, the water became a shape of a larger man.... muscular but much taller than any average male.....standing almost fifteen feet tall.
It didn't take long before all the other workers were caught by this water, which was starting to drown all the workers......the water covered man dropped the workers' bodies, seeing them flop onto the ground. "I need to find the two men....one that failed to save her, and the one that not only took her away from me....but wasn't there when she died......I must find Peter Parker and Spider-Man!!!!!!"
The next morning, at around 10:58....an early release day for school.....Will was almost done with classes for the day. Thankfully for him, because for him, this meant more time to fight Fisk's Fists or other criminal scum on the streets. While admittingly, he didn't know what to expect, he wasn't too concerned, because he was learning quickly just how to fight in sync with his powers. Just one more minute to go before he could finally leave....one minute until freedom from school and he couldn't wait. The thrill of swinging through the city, of being mobile and able to just....think...it invigorated him immensely. Finally, the bell rang and he gets up, leaving through the door.
Gwen grabs him by his backpack. "Whoa! Going somewhere in a hurry Quicksilver?" She teased as she slightly pulls him back.
The curly haired boy chuckles awkwardly at her comment. "Sorry, I just....got excited to be leaving school early. Take some time to just....get out of here and chill." He answered her. Of course he wasn't lying necessarily. Though admittingly he was going to relax in a different sense..... swinging through the rooftops of the city.
Gwen giggles softly. "I get that. Though unfortunately I don't think you'll get much time to relax today." She said as she pointed out the window. When she sees Will look out, Peter Parker was standing outside of the school with a very serious expression.
The curly haired troublemaker's eyes widen in shock when he sees his mentor basically waiting for him so patiently. He never waited for him like this...... "I'm sorry I won't be able to-"
"Don't apologize....your boss needs you." Gwen interrupted with a gentle, understanding tone of voice. "Just be sure to not overwork yourself."
Will nods as he leaves the classroom. "I'll see you Monday?" He asked the strawberry blonde, who nodded her head in agreement before he walked further away. It didn't take long before Will was out of the school and in front of the retired superhero. "Rare to see you out like this." He said, trying to appear casual while walking with his mentor.
