An Assassin That Stings!

Later in the night, Mayor Wilson Fisk holds his hands together, a tablet laying on the table with Spider-Man on the screen. He seemed to be waiting for someone in a secret backroom of his office, waiting for a secret door to open up. "They should be here any moment......and when they do, it will be time to discuss the requirements for my job....." He says to himself, doing his best to remain patient. After several minutes of waiting, the door swings open, revealing a man wearing yellow and black armor, a jetpack on his back and gear that looked ready for combat. "Perfect......I've been expecting you......Bumbler." Fisk said as he takes a drink from his glass.

The man, now known as Bumbler walks up to his desk, his expression unreadable under his helmet. But it was obvious he was in no mood for small talk. "Let's cut to the chase. Why did you call for me? And it better be important." He said bluntly, standing in front of the mayor's desk.

The corrupt mayor releases his drink, setting it gently on his desk and exhaling from how he enjoyed his drink. "Quite the impatient one aren't you? All business so soon.....I like that about you." He said with respect as he slides the tablet over to the assassin. "This is to be your target. Spider-Man." He then said simply.

The Bumbler looks at the photo, not even looking a little scared of what he was seeing. "He doesn't look so tough...... nothing but a little pushover if you ask me." He said with confidence. He had been known to push back members of The Avengers, and now he was being hired to deal with someone like Spider-Man? A part of him felt so disrespected that he was dealing with someone so.....low tier.....at least in his mind.

Fisk shakes his head firmly. "Do not underestimate this one. He only seems foolish when you first see him...... however, he has shown to be far more dangerous than any villain had seen before today." He tells him, sliding through several photos of the superhero defeating several of Fisk's Fists alone, along with multiple supervillains, each photo seemingly taken from screenshots from news clips or videos on YouTube or anywhere else on the internet.

The bumble bee themed villain watched each clip and showed multiple different still photos, all showing the web head just how skilled he could be. Each clip seemed to intrigue the assassin a little bit more. The way he moves, reacts and counters certain combinations. The way he fights.... This could be quite a challenge to hunt down.....and the very thought about it sent chills down his spine. "I see..... he'll be quite a handful. However, his biggest flaw is that he is best fighting on solid ground. Against someone like me? His chances of defeating me will plummet faster than he will." He said coldly while summoning blades in the shape of a bee's stinger from his forearms. "Now.....about my payment....." He starts off, knowing Fisk was going to start explaining, and cuts him off with a simple raise of his hand. "I will accept the full payment once the job is complete..no sooner. No later." He then said bluntly.

The corrupt mayor smirks, nodding his head in agreement. "Quite a man of honor you are. I respect that about you. But do tell, what made you want to answer my call to you? Surely you have.....other important matters or clients to attend to?" He asked with curiosity.

Bumbler looks down at his client, his eyes never looking away from the larger male. "I believed in doing something a little different..... against a foe I have never truly defeated. This is about more than just money for me. It's about the type of job I am needed for." He explains as he heads out the door, his steps calm and confident. Once he was out the door, the bumble bee themed assassin uses his jetpack, which expands it's been like wings to fly into the air, searching for his target.

As Fisk watches from his personal window, a fellow scientist steps into view, his posture nervous, but seemingly having a question on his mind. "Uh sir......? With all due respect of course! But I uhhh....I must ask......why......did you hire him for the task of killing Spider-Man....? I-I mean you know we have the technology to-"

"Because good doctor, the technology we have has been failing miserably.....while it is true it is powerful in its own right, the pesky wall crawler constantly interferes and destroys it. It is true every other individual we have sent out has done no better, some failing in greater more spectacular fashion than others..... however, this one has a much better chance. With his own supply of technology, gadgets and skills under his own belt, Spider-Man will never be able to expect anything from the likes of me." Wilson answers, already imagining Spider-Man fighting and dying against The Bumbler, a wicked smile forming on his face.

Meanwhile, in the air, the bumble bee themed assassin flies in the night sky, planning out the perfect way to eliminate his target. He had a basic understanding of what his fighting style was like, and was already certain he was going to defeat the wall crawler. "This will be the easiest job I'll ever had.....with no one to truly rescue him." He said with a very serious tone, soon flying faster. The hunt was on as he started to track the pattern the web slinger would usually take.

(Editor's note: a quick villain/assassin introduction chapter felt appropriate for this one. With what I have planned for Bumbler, outside of Spider-Man, I'm excited to see what comes ahead. But until then, hope you're enjoying so far! :3)
