Will crawls up on a wall after having dropped off Gwen to her apartment and changing into his Spider-Man attire. "It feels more unreal to me that this whole event has happened. I mean me being one of my favorite superheroes..... mentored by the original..... fighting the bad guys I've fought... making a difference to the city..... I'm almost afraid that this is all just a dream." He said more to himself more than Peter, who was obviously listening in through his coms.
"I get what you mean kid. I never thought that the city, no.... the world would need Spider-Man again......but maybe it needed a new Spider-Man......while Miles or Ben could've easily taken my place, they felt they had other priorities to take care of around the world.....I can't say I blame them though......" He said gently as he typed on his computer. "You.....embody a lot of what Spider-Man stands for, while also......doing things differently. Knowing when it's best to fight and when to help......sure, you're definitely rough around the edges in some things......but you've improved immensely since your first day." He added on, a hint of pride in his voice.
The rookie superhero couldn't help but smile under his mask. "To be fair, I have you as a mentor......I feel unstoppable when you're backing me up the way you do." He admitted as he remains perched on the ledge of a rooftop.
The retired hero couldn't help but feel a little bit happier......not as happy as he was with Mary Jane, but...... better than he had for years. 'I can't tell him this yet.... because I'm not good at expressing this yet.....but-' Before he could finish his thoughts, an alarm blares on his computer. "Kid, there's something going on by a chemical waste facility. Go check it out." He tells his protege with authority.
"On it." Will said with determination before jumping down and swinging away, heading to his destination. Once he sees the building, what he sees next is a strange figure in a containment suit, getting ready to enter it. 'Thats weird..... why's he walking in there?.....and why's my spider sense blaring like crazy?' He thinks to himself as he goes toward the chemical waste facility, sticking to the wall. "I'm no expert guy, but either this isn't where you steal money from or you're in the wrong area for a comic book convention." He quipped before feeling his spider sense going off louder, warning him of extreme danger. Before he could question why, he sees a concentrated beam of green energy being shot out, and narrowly dodged. "Holy crap.....that doesn't sit right."
"Kid, that was a blast of radiation he shot at you!" Peter shouted frantically, showing his obvious fear.
Will's eyes widen under his mask. "Radiation?! That's not a good sign....." He mumbled to himself, watching where the blast came from. According to the suit's readings, that was a high level of radiation fired at him. "That explains the suit he's wearing.....it's meant to contain the radiation so it doesn't get exposed to the air." He said to himself, as much as Peter.
Nuclear glares at the web head, creating a ball of radiation and throwing it out at the web head, who tried webbing it while dodging the ball. The webs disintegrated immediately upon contact with the radiation, and the ball hit the billboard instead. This wasn't part of the plan..... he wasn't intending to cause collateral damage.....he just wanted to destroy Spider-Man and get it over with. Thankfully, Spider-Man was able to stop the billboard from falling with his webbing to keep it on the rooftop. "I need to eliminate you to be able to return to my old life. Its the only way they'll help me!" He shouted desperately, trying to get the web head to understand his predicament.
The web slinger lands in front of the radiation supervillain, determination showing under his mask. "Look, whatever they're offering you, they're just using you to kill me for their agenda I guarantee you that. If they truly wanted to cure you, they'd do it now." He said, trying to approach this logically.
Nuclear could only look up at Spider-Man, trying to understand his perspective. Somewhere deep in his own mind, he knew the web slinger was right..,...it would be so easy for him to get cured by Fisk since he had the technology.....but instead it came with a price tag......of Spider-Man's head.....but slowly, logic didn't seem to matter. Whether it was because of the radiation eating away at his critical thinking, or panic of being stuck as this.....thing, he felt that he had to do this. "I don't care! I'll do anything to be my old self again! No matter what it costs me!" He shouted out, desperation prominent in his voice as he uses the radiation to shoot himself upward towards the rookie superhero.
Will's eyes widen under his mask as he sees this villain barrel towards him, hands extended outward for an attack. When he dodged, he saw that his hand was glowing green....but before he could react, a blast of radiation hits his torso, sending him flying towards the concrete. When he gets up, a part of his suit was ripped up, and part of his skin burned..... 'My suit can't take this much radiation.......if this keeps up I'm concerned he'll get stronger....' He thinks to himself, trying to come up with a plan. "You gotta stop this!" He shouts out, webbing the villain and yanking him to the ground. Once he landed, the web head immediately uppercuts his jaw, then punches his chest and stomach before finally kicking his face.
Nuclear stumbled back after the assault, glaring at his foe. "Or what? You'll die?!" He shouted, punching the spider themed superhero in the stomach, sending him flying backwards into a car. Through whatever his problem was, his mental state was deteriorating.....
Peter watched the fight on his screen, and soon starts typing when there's a particular spot he had to watch out for. "Kid. His head's generating an insane amount of radiation......that means it's effecting his brain." He said frantically.
Will groans, sitting up slowly. "That doesn't sound good......I'll get back to you on that though." He said calmly before charging forward, webbing his fists to better protect them and starts to punch him much harder than before. Knowing he had this kind of power, he knew he had to hold back less since he'd be able to take the punches much better. "You can't trust this guy! He's only going to make things worse for you once you get what you want!" He shouted while continuing to punch this villain.
The radiation villain eventually grabs the hero's fists, then slams his knee into Spider-Man's stomach, throwing him into the ground hard. "Worse? There's hardly anything worse than me..... I'm already Nuclear!" He shouted, preparing another blast at his heroic foe.
Sensing the immediate danger, Will kicks himself up, firing a web and pulls himself up. "You're calling yourself Nuclear........ terrific......he's lost his mind......." He muttered to himself, clutching his ribs. He knew he'd be feeling that in the morning......that is, if he lives that long. He then swings towards Nuclear, kicking him from behind. "Nuclear...... whoever you really are.......you're going to hurt people....... you'll destroy your whole life because of the damage your causing......" He tell him, praying that he'd understand and stop his actions.
The radiation villain glares up at his foe, feeling his mental stability deteriorating more and more....but he didn't feel any reason to be concerned.....either he didn't notice, or didn't care due to his fire situation. "My life's already destroyed.....I already have nothing to lose......" He said coldly as he fires rapid shots of radiation at him.
Will was able to dodge all but one of them, seeing even more damage in his suit before crashing into another car. "Crap.......if this keeps up, I'm not gonna last......" He muttered to himself with frustration, hiding behind a different car. This was his best chance to get a moment to breathe.....at least until he blasted his way past the car. "I don't have the tech to beat him......my webs will disintegrate before they can touch him, and I don't have a single strategy for a guy like this. And now to make matters worse, I think my coms are screwed up
....I can't hear Mr. Parker....." He said to himself, all while trying to think of anything. But before he could, his spider sense warned him of danger, and he flips away before a blast of radiation shoots out, hitting the car and sends it flying. So he webs the car and throws it at his radiated foe with all of his strength.
Nuclear smirks as he sees the car, blasting it before it could even touch him. But Spider-Man was ready, taking the opportunity to punch him harder and faster, each attack slightly denting his suit. 'Shit shit shit....I can't keep this up. Or else the radiation will do too much damage.' He thinks to himself. Without thinking, he smacks the wall crawler away, sending him flying into a building. "GET AWAY FROM ME BUG!" He shouted with desperation and rage. He had to get away, to get his suit fixed up somehow. So he uses his radiation to fly away, leaving the injured Spider-Man to live.....for now.....
Meanwhile, Spider-Man was barely able to get out of the rubble, exhausted from that fight. Whoever this guy was..... he was obviously far stronger and a much bigger threat than anyone could truly anticipate. Soon enough, the static from the coms link stops, and things seem to return to normal. "Boss...... we've got bigger problems now....."
(Editor's note: had to figure out how this battle would go. But we got it out at least. This is gonna be quite the interesting arc, and I hope you're enjoying so far! :3)
