Another block away, Soundwave steps through the city, blasting out powerful soundwave blasts out at the city to cause mass chaos to innocent bystanders. "Hear that Spider-Man?! That's the sound of innocent people getting hurt or worse because you decided to hide! I dunno how you escaped me when I could hear anything, but I'll kill you, and then get what you deserve!" He shouts out, his sound blasts becoming increasingly dangerous, and more powerful, focused.
Meanwhile, Mantis has his blades out, flipping around and bouncing off walls in order to find his foe. At this rate, he was more ready to fight Spider-Man. "Last time, I severely underestimated you, and it cost me a bounty. This time? I will be sure to kill you." He threatened, ready to slash an innocent person's head off.
Before Mantis could kill the civilian, a web stops him in his tracks. "Sorry, don't got death anywhere on my schedule. Can I potentially punch you in for a Thursday instead?" Spider-Man quipped from a wall, pulling him away and slamming him into a car.
Soundwave looks up, seeing the superhero already handling Mantis. "You! Because of you, I lost my reputation! I was going to use my technology to help revolutionize construction forever! No more pointless wrecking balls to ruin our planet! Just pure concentrated sound! Now because of you, my life's work is forever ruined! Tainted by you!" He shouts out, using some sounds on his boots to propel him towards Spider-Man, who jumped away from the attack and lands on the ground.
"Yeah you sure showed me Soundwave. Tell me how I tried to tell you not to do this but you insisted anyway! Your tech was already screwed. I just tried to help you." Spider-Man reminded, trying to reach some semblance of Howard Shultz's humanity. But of course, Spider-Man found none, and dodged another sound blast. "I tried." He muttered to himself before firing impact webbing rapidly like a chain gun. Each shot of impact webbing hit Soundwave's suit, causing him to grunt and stumble back.
The sound powered supervillain roared in anger as he raised his hands out, and large waves of sound shot out, flying towards Spider-Man. The web head could feel his spider sense blaring from the incoming invisible danger. So instinctively, he webs up a manhole cover, jumped up to cover his body with the same manhole cover by curling in a ball. The soundwaves bounced back and hit the villain. However, his suit was still able to absorb the sound and fire it back with double the force.
Spider-Man webbed himself up to the building and sticks to it, manhole cover still and hand. He then threw it at the villain, hitting him in the head as the sound rang in his head. "Hey what's the matter? I thought sounds were your whole thing? Why are you wincing as if this bothers you?" He quipped before jumping away from another sound blast headed his way.
Meanwhile, Mantis rushed him silently, using Soundwave's attacks to his advantage. His plan was that the soundwaves would silence his footsteps so he could sneak up on the wall crawler much easier. "The perfect diversion. Now to land a devastating blow....." He said quietly, blade raised and ready to attack.
As he lands on the ground, the web slinger felt his spider sense tingle again, and knew this meant that Mantis was still behind him. He ducks backwards without looking at him, then kicks his stomach. "For a legendary assassin, you tend to make some pretty rookie mistakes bucko. You sure you're on your game today? Or are you just going easy on me?" He mocked as he punches him in various spots of his body.
Mantis was unable to block all of them due to Spider-Man's speed, and he could feel the force of those punches. They were so powerful, yet it was obvious he was still holding back, restraining himself from killing any of his foes. "You.....you cannot be doing this to me!" He shouts with fear, trying to compose himself.
Before he could throw one more punch, Spidey jumps out of the way of a sound blast that Soundwave fired from behind, sending Mantis flying back. "For such a sound expert you sure are loud huh?" He quipped as he flips towards his sound themed enemy, kicking him in the stomach and sending him flying about five feet backwards.
