At the center of Time Square, Orion Octavius stood waiting for one of his allies to bring Spider-Man to him, or for an exhausted web head to fight him. Either way, Spider-Man was going to fall to the evil genius. This was all according to his own plan to tire out Spider-Man for him to finish off the wall crawler after all. But soon, he heard the sound of web shooters going off and knew it was Spider-Man, ready to fight. "I was wondering when you would finally run into me.....you truly are extremely predictable. Saving your biggest threat for the very last." He said tauntingly, hoping to get a rise out of the hero.
"Oh. Right. I totally forgot you were part of this team since you relied heavily on others to do your work for you." The hero quipped, already in front of the Octopus themed supervillain. Of course he was gonna save Doc Ock for last. Why wouldn't he deal with the first six since there was two at once to deal with? Orion was basically like two villains at once himself.
As Orion looks at his foe up and down, Spider-Man didn't look even a little bit tired. In fact, he looked......just fine. He didn't seem exhausted, or even injured. It seemed his strategy didn't work the way he wanted it to. On top of that, hearing that Spider-Man forgot about him, even if it was just one of his many annoying jokes he made, truly irritated him beyond belief. "You will not forget me very soon enough you insulant Arachnid!" He shouted out, launching out four of his arms to attack Spider-Man.
The web head used his agility to dodge the incoming arms, finding just the right spots to slip through his arms. "Okay, I'll bite. How you gonna do that? Gonna lose your mind to your so-called genius? You gonna group up six of my biggest enemies to try and beat me? Oh wait, that's right now loser!" He mocked, getting in front of the crazed mad scientist and lands a solid punch to his face. But he didn't have long before he jumped away, using his spider sense to dodge the energy arms from grabbing or hitting him.
Orion grunted in annoyance, trying to hit his foe. But no matter what he tried to do, he couldn't even get close enough to the wall crawler. "How are you doing this?! Why can I not get a hold on you?!" He shouted with irritation, all while trying to strike the rookie superhero.
"Why? Probably because you're not as smart as you think you are Doc. What's your degree in? On how to miss your opponent so spectacularly?" Spider-Man mocked, continuing to evade the oncoming attacks. Truth be told, Will had figured out a pattern pretty early on. Doc Ock was trying to attack where the web head was already standing, not where he could go to next in order to avoid an incoming attack. Not to mention that the mad scientist was relying on his eyes while Spider-Man was being much more instinctual, trusting his body to move without conscious thoughts telling him where to go.
Doctor Octopus was becoming more and more infuriated with the fact that he couldn't hit Spider-Man, now using all six of his energy arms without hesitation. "This isn't fair! This shouldn't have happened like this! If the other six actually did their job, you would be much more exhausted, but I would be destroying you right now!" He shouts out, whipping his arms at the web slinger.
Spidey jumps and dives out of the way of his attacks, getting close enough to kick his stomach, then bounced away from the next assault. "Yeah, don't you hate it when a plan just falls through?" He asked, feigning concern for his enemy before webbing two of the energy arms to the ground, then punches his face again. "Can't be helped that you played this strategy terribly. Probably should've stuck with cleaning beakers or whatever it is you used to do." His voice is almost mocking, and he continues to dodge attacks, moves fluid, graceful, devoid of true thought.
Orion did finally grab hold of the web head, pulling him closer. "Got you now.....at long last, I can tear you apart....and eliminate you once and for all." He said with cold precision, using four of his energy arms to go grab Spidey's limbs, ready to pull them apart.
The web slinger could feel agony course through his body as his limbs started to pull, but he started fighting back, pulling against the arms with every ounce of strength he could. "This is quite the workout doc..... couldn't appreciate this more if I tried!" He joked, soon getting his arms free and slamming them down on the mad scientist's head hard.
Doc Ock was forced to drop his foe, and took a few steps back. He got him.....he tricked him.....this fool tricked the smartest man in the area, nay, the world as far as he was concerned. "You dare make a mockey of me?! To play me like a damn fiddle?!" He shouted, using all six energy arms to reach out and attack his spider foe.
The rookie superhero was able to dodge each arm, using them to climb his way towards his octopus themed supervillain, then lands two kicks to his chest before punching his face. If his plan to destroy Bumbler's jetpack didn't work, then destroying Ock's backpack that contained his energy arms would be pointless. He most likely upgraded it to be much more durable, able to take heavy damage. Either that, or he acquired metal that wouldn't be so easy to destroy like adamantium somehow. "So tell me Doc. You villain types like to brag about how you got out. What's your story? Cops feel bad for you and let you leave while pretending you beat em?" He quipped while dodging several attacks at once.
Orion felt immense annoyance at the wall crawler's annoying retorts, comments, jokes and mocking words. "You think a man of my vast intelligence would explain it to you?! You may fool my ignoramus comrades Spider-Man. However, I am nowhere near as gullible as them." He responded while continuing to try and kill Spidey.
Of course the hero was able to avoid each attempt on his life thanks to his speed and agility. "Nowhere near as gullible, but almost as ugly." He joked while spinning on his enemy's energy arms and kicking him with both feet. Given how secretive Orion was being, the curly haired troublemaker was able to figure out a very specific pattern in his fighting style.
Orion screams in frustration, extending his arms all at once in an attempt to grab or hit the web slinger. "You dare to continue to mock me?! Your greatest foe by far?! Your intellectual superior?!" He shouted out, seeing how he was missing each attack.
Spider-Man continued to dodge his attacks gracefully, instinctually, as if he was able to tell what was coming and when. "You think you're my greatest foe? You're lucky that you're even somewhat close to my top 5. I think about Soundwave more than you." He mocked, his moves becoming more fluid, more agile, and less with thought. Lesson one from Peter Parker. Trust in your spider sense. Lesson two, remember to let your body move as if it was moving on it's own. Lesson 3, learn to balance out your strength and agility together. He was using each of his lessons, and adapting his own fighting style into it, which for a man like Orion Octavius found illogical, made no sense, confused him beyond belief.
The octopus themed supervillain tries to catch his arachnid foe off guard, arms extending to where Spidey would be at, thinking he would catch his foe off guard. However, he would have no such luck, as Spider-Man moved over or under the energy arms, climbing them like a jungle gym before kicking him in the face. "No one should be this agile.....no one this coordinated, this mobile!" He shouts more at himself than at his enemy.
"No one except....your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!" Spider-Man retorted before uppercutting his jaw, sending him flying before webbing his arms up, and then slamming him down on the ground. With that, he had defeated the Sinister Seven, and he was tired from the battles. But it was a successful win overall. Now for one final thing to take care of for the day to feel complete.
(editor's note: Had to find ways to execute this chapter with good dialogue for this final arc of book one. We don't have long before this book is completed. Very few chapters left. Hope you're enjoying so far! :3)
