The Next Warning! The Spider And The Cat Officially Reunite!

Hours pass for Spider-Man as he swung all throughout the city, unable to really find any Intel of any of the escaped supervillains. No matter who he tried to get information from, they all had the same reactions or responses. They'd pull out whatever weapons they had, try to kill the superhero, get defeated rather quickly and then scared witless before pleading desperately and screaming that they didn't have any information about the escaped supervillains. Sure, the streets were getting cleaned up of thugs, gangs, criminals and even a few of Fisk's Fists agents. But the web slinger still didn't have the information he was looking for. "Any word yet?" He asked Peter through their coms link, hoping his mentor had a trace of anything.

Peter sighs with irritation, not at his protege, but at the situation. "Not even a small hint. They must be underground somewhere so nobody would be able to track them too easily." He answered, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Will soon lands on a nearby rooftop, giving himself a moment to breathe and think. "Okay, fair. But you'd think we'd be able to at least track all of them thanks to Terrainia and Doc Ock at the very least. Those two are loud because of how they walk." He said, trying to understand what the problem was.

Peter strokes his chin with his fingers gently, trying his best to think of why their was no data. "My guess? Perhaps Soundwave is using his tech to turn down the volume on their footsteps?" He said, trying to come up with a somewhat logical answer.

The curly haired troublemaking boy thinks about this theory, and it makes even a little bit of sense except for one thing. "Okay, sure. That helps a little bit. But where's the chaos and destruction they'd accidentally cause? Unless they are actually underground. But they wouldn't do that because Ock would hate it, saying it's beneath a man of his intellect." He counters, trying to relax his mind a little bit before feeling his spider sense tingling....not necessarily because he was in danger......but because he could sense someone watching him from nearby..... "I'm gonna have to get back to you later......" He said weerily, tracking where the danger was with his eyes, thanks to his spider sense. "Whoever you are, you may as well come out before I web you over here."

After three hesitating seconds, Melony, wearing her Black Cat costume, pops out from her hiding spot and jumps over to the rooftop across from him. "Knew you'd find me eventually Spider......you of all people would be able to detect me." She said with barely contained sadness.....not because Spider-Man tracked her, not even because soon she'd go back to prison......but because of her last interaction with Will.....the distrust in his eyes, the defensive tone and stance. "You can come over.......I'm not going to fight you..... I don't have the strength to anymore....." She admitted sadly, feeling the fight drain out of her.

With great hesitance, Spider-Man swung down toward the Black Cat, being careful of how he landed near her. After all, she was still an assassin. "Forgive me if I don't trust you. I saw the way you hurt someone emotionally." He said coldly, not even trying to hide the bitterness in his tone.

Melony let a bitter laugh escape her lips, looking at the ground. "Of course you know......why wouldn't you? You're always looking out for people....." She said with self hatred for how she treated Will.....hell, even how she treated Spider-Man. "You have every right to not trust me fully. But you need to know you're in severe danger."

The web head scoffed, pretending he didn't already know about the Sinister Seven yet. "What? Is it Tuesday already?" He joked to show how little he knew.

Melony finally looked up at Spidey, trying to not get too angry. "Look, I didn't come here to joke. There's seven supervillains that are out here trying to kill you. And before you joke about it, no I'm not one of them......" She told him, looking at his eye lenses with all the sincerity she could muster.

The rookie superhero looks her deep in her eyes, able to tell she meant every word. Not even a tiny trace of dishonesty in her voice. Otherwise she would've attacked him the moment she landed. She'd do something sneaky like that to try and catch him off guard. But now? She was just too sad.....too.....broken to try. "That what the prison raid was all about? Seven of my bad guys getting freed?" He asked.

The purple haired girl nodded her head. "Yeah. Fisk picked them out especially for you....." She told him. "Look......I know my words won't mean much to you.... but I want you to know.....that I didn't do this life as Black Cat because I had to.....I did it because I thought that...... I thought that it was the only way to end the suffering.......but ....."

"But?" Spider-Man asked, waiting for her to finish.

"But......after seeing Will Richardson......so hurt...... so betrayed........I realized what was more important to me.....so I'm here, trying to warn you and Will of what's coming, at least what I know of....." She explained before raising her arms in the air in surrender. "Now that I'm done with my mission......I need to go back to Ryker's."

Spidey picks her up in his arms. "I'll take you." He said simply before web swinging with her in his arms. As he did, he thought long and hard about what Melony was saying. Of course he didn't fully trust her still, but he knew that she wasn't lying about this much. Though he still needed to know just how much this meant to her...... "Didn't think they'd let you out after everything." He said simply.

"They wouldn't normally......but they knew that I'd do anything to get the chance. Even if it meant being tracked in case I'm gone for too long." Melony explained, looking up at Spider-Man. "I know I should've warned you first instead of Will.....but......there was a selfish part of me that had to find him first....."

"You did a good thing even if it was for your own selfish reasons." Spidey said simply, swinging just high enough to get higher in the air. "Now you may wanna hold on tight." He warned as he feels the cat themed assassin grip onto his body. He then extends his arms out and lets his web wings out to glide the rest of the way to Ryker's.

The purple haired girl couldn't help but look at the wings in fascination. "You've made some upgrades since the last time we met......." She said, admittedly being very impressed by this experience.

"Eh. A little extra way to travel until my spider sub is fixed up." The spider themed hero joked while moving closer to the supervillain prison. It didn't take long until they reached the prison and saw several criminals still all over the place, continuing to riot. "Ohhhh crap......" He muttered to himself.

Jonathan Stacy rushed to where Spider-Man was, panting desperately. "Thank God you're here......even if it was for different reasons. Ever since those seven supervillains got out, we've been struggling with keeping this place under control! Think you can handle things until we've repaired everything?" He asked the wall crawler.

"No problem. I beat em once I'll beat em again." Spider-Man responded. "Since I'll be helping a lot of officers, I need her help too. So she's with me until further notice." He then added, surprising both Jonathan and Melony.

Of course, Jonathan wasn't exactly in any position to deny the request, especially with the criminals getting out. "Fine. She can help..as long as she does not kill. Any of them die with intentions and you're back in your cell for life." He said warningly before rushing inside with both Spider-Man and Melony jumping up to a high vantage point.

"Okay. You know this place better than I do little miss criminal. Where would the most likely place be a group of bad guys would group up?" Spider-Man asked in a somewhat condescending tone.

"Was that a passive aggressive shot at me?..." Melony asked, slightly frustrated with his attitude. Although at the same time, she understood.......but it still upset her a little bit. "But if I was being honest, most of them would be getting weapons. So they'd either get some makeshift weapons or go to the armory to get their own or steal from the police." She finally answered. "Don't worry. I only got a grappling hook as a weapon.....I suppose I can make sure but it's still frustrating......"

Spidey nods his head. "Alright then. We go start from the armory and push em back from there." He said with authority, getting ready to attack. This was a big battle to get control of the prison back in order.....or in full chaos.

(Editor's note: another interesting cliffhanger! Figured since we're on the last story arc, this would be another interesting chapter to add on top..hope you're enjoying so far! :3)
