Iroh II x reader- Come back to me

You were Korra's best friend from the South Pole. Even before she was taken to the White Lotus base, your parents were best friends and so were you guys. Korra was out training and you were bored, wandering around the halls aimlessly, giving the other people you met a brief hello and they returned it. You were a waterbender of course, but Korra and you passed that course years ago. And since all the resources were put towards teaching Korra you were responsible for your own training. You saw a male around your age looking around, he seemed lost.

"Uh, hey are you lost?" You ask him, he looked at you. Your best guess was figuring out who you were. Now that you got a good look at him, he was actually pretty cute. Or at least the cutest boy you've seen.

"I need to meet with your Council, make sure that the firebenders are up to date on the latest firebending moves for the Avatar to learn or counteract " he answers.

"Oh, follow me. The Council's busy watching Korra earth bend. But I can show you where they are currently. Korra's session should be over soon anyway." You explain to him.

"Thank you, I'm General Iroh of the Fire Nation, you are?" He asks you.

"Oh! I'm (Y/N) (L/N) of the Water Tribe, and Korra's best friend" you answer back happily. "But you can call me (N/N)." You add after a moment.

"If I may ask, do you know why you're here?" He asks you politely.
"Because I'm Korra's best friend and it's good for her to have social skills if she's going to go to the outside world eventually" you answer.

"Makes sense" he comments.

"So...how's the Fire Nation?" You ask curiously. Which triggered a conversation in which the two of you exchanged stories about your completely different lives.
"Well here we are" you opened the door and the two of you walked in.

-Timeskip-

You and Korra were talking in the hall about random stuff.
"Well I gotta go take Naga out for a ride. You know how she gets at this time of day, see you in a bit" Korra waved before going towards Naga's quarters.

"It was so good to see you again Iroh" you heard Katara's voice say.
"It has been a while, I'm glad I could see you again Katara" you heard Iroh say as he exited.

"Oh you should visit more often, I'm not getting any younger here" she jokes.

"Of course, will do" he nods respectfully. You went to turn around, not wanting to intrude on their moment. But...

"Why hello there (N/N)" Katara greets.

"Hey Katara" you waved, coming over to the two.
"Do you mind walking Iroh to the docks? I would but my knees aren't what they used to be" she asks you.

"Of course, I have nothing better to do" you shrug.

"Thank you (N/N), now if you have any trouble with those complex techniques let me know and I'll help you the best I can" Katara nods in appreciation.
"Will do" you and Iroh waved to Katara and she nodded before turning back into her room.

"Your a waterbender?" Iroh asks you.
"Yeah, Katara's been a big help with that. And your a fire bender right?" You ask, he nods his head in confirmation.

"If you don't mind me asking, how do you learn? Does the Council help you?" He asks.
"Well...Korra's first element to master was waterbending so I trained with her. When she was deemed to master it, I had to teach myself. Katara's helped me through some bumps but I guess I'm a high quality water bender, even though the only person I have to compare to is Katara, and she's much better than me." You answer.
