Haha, looks like I win again Natsu

Elfman's words and the fight you had from moments ago flashbacked in Natsu's head. He needed to be able to prove himself by beating you in a fight before he felt he was worthy to ask you out and that he was capable at keeping you safe. So he rewinded the fight in his mind, trying to remember the things he needed to work on. He watched you on the bar as you carelessly talked to Mira. He couldn't help but stare at you, he was drawn to you, but he didn't want to ask you out until he beat you in a fight.

"Aww, someone looks sour that they lost, to a girl" Gray snickered, breaking Natsu out of his thoughts.

"And what's so wrong with losing to a girl?" Erza glared at Gray. making him gulp.
"N..nothing! Nothing at all!"
"That's what I thought"

"He still lost though and it was to (Y/N), she's not even S-class man"
"Oh yeah! Well you're not S-class either!" Natsu shot back.

"Please, (Y/N) wishes that she could be on my level" Natsu growled a little, ready to punch Gray out any minute.

"Hehe, you did pretty good out there Salamander, can't believe you lost to that pipsqueak for the third time though" Gajeel laughed as he clapped Natsu on the back.

"I can't believe that he let her win three times, why're you going easy on her anyway?" Natsu felt his blood boil, Gray insulting him he could deal with, but Gajeel and they were insulting you. His short temper came in to play as they continued to tease him. Natsu began to steam as he stewed quietly before he had enough. He slammed his hands on the table, creating burn marks on the wood as he glared at Gray and Gajeel

"Would you two shut up?! I like (Y/N) ok ?! Are you happy now?! She's smart and funny and I wanted to prove that I was strong enough to protect her! So leave me alone so I can plan my training and train myself so I can finally be strong enough to be able to protect her!" Natsu roared, not noticing the guild quieting down as he sat back down, only taking small satisfaction in Gray and Gajeel's expressions. Happy began laughing and Natsu stared at him weirdly.

"Everything alright Happy? You didn't eat a weird fish did you?" Happy just laughed harder.
"U...um Natsu...you...you do realize that you confessed what you just said...out loud...to the whole guild...right?" Wendy squeaked out, shy from the quiet of the guild. Natsu immediately turned in his seat to look at you, your face was covered by your hands and the tips of your ears were bright red. Natsu got up and walked over to you, placing a hand on your shoulder.

"(Y/N), I do like you but I'm not going to ask you out until I can prove to myself that I'm worthy of you. I'll challenge you again after some training so don't pull any punches for me ok?" Natsu grinned at you as your face turned redder, you nodded shyly, still unable to believe that Natsu had a crush on you out of all people.

"Y...yeah...ok..." you agreed, his grin widened and he gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze.
"Until then (Y/N)! I've gotta get to training! C'mon Happy!" Natsu grinned at you before running away.

"Aye sir!" You watched Natsu leave with wide eyes before turning back to your bench stool.

"D...did that just happen?" You stuttered to Mira, who held a polaroid picture of the moment between you a mere few seconds ago.
"Yep! You two would be so cute together!" You buried your face in your hands from pure embarrassment once again as talk in the guild resumed. While you were all flustered and embarrassed on the outside from the public confession, inside, you were soaring.
