Meilin x Gray- It's a start

This was requested by Wingstar, and this kind of one shot is uncharacteristic of me but I helped collab with Meilin and a new book called Stone Cold on Quotev where we're co-authors for this character, so this is Meilin's and Gray's relationship from my perspective of what it should be so I hope you enjoy it.

Meilin opened the door, instinctively ducking, thinking a table or something will fly out. She looked around, seeing the guild cleaning up.

"Looks like we just missed it buddy" she spoke to her lizard pal, who now crawled to her shoulder knowing there was no danger. Meilin sighed in relief, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Mei!" Levy came out of nowhere and attacked her in a hug. Meilin laughed, realizing it wasn't Natsu challenging her again and proceeded to hug the short, blue haired wizard, picking her up a foot off the ground and squeezing her.
"Hey Lev! Good to see you!" She grins, around strangers Meilin would seem shy and cold but with her close friends Levy and Mira nearby she acted like a completely different person.
"H...hey Meilin...back from your job already?...I...it's good to see you..." Gray stutters. Juvia watched from her pillar in shock. My beloved Gray stuttered, and in front of this complete stranger! Love Rival! Juvia growled in her head, glaring at Meilin, but this time she was right about the love rival thing. Meilin put Levy down and turned to Gray, oh how she hated Gray. Ever since they were kids he had no human decency, he stripped wherever he pleased, thinking there was no consequence for his actions. She glared at Gray, making him flinch.

"Of course I did, I'm the most powerful dragon slayer here" she glowers.

"Y...yeah-"
"Gray my love! There you are!" Juvia hugged his arm, Meilin raised an eyebrow but didn't question it.
"I see we've got some new members" she observes, Muchu hopped from Meilin's shoulder and curled on Levy's head, almost purring as his scales turned to the color of the yellowed pages of old books.

"C'mon girl! We need to catch up! You've missed so much!" Levy grins at Meilin, Meilin let Levy pull her to the bar, who then earned a smile from Mira and some free chocolate cake, on the house. As Meilin and Levy began talking, with some occasional 'hellos' or 'goodtoseeyous' from other guildmates Gray dragged his feet to the table with the rest of Team Natsu and lied his head in his arms.

"Hey Gray, are you ok?" Lucy asks worriedly.

"He'll be fine, this happens every time Mei gets back from a job" Natsu shrugs before going back to his chicken wing.
"Mei? Is that who just walked in?" Lucy asks.
"Yes, her name is Meilin, she's another powerful dragonslayer in this guild. Poor Gray here has been quite smitten with her ever since she's joined." Erza explains.

"Really? Then how come they aren't a couple yet?" Lucy asks.
"It's simple really, Mei hates his guts, The only reason she doesn't give him a black and blue everytime she sees him is because Muchu likes him," Happy answers.
"Muchu?"

"The lizard on Levy's head"
"I keep telling you man you've got to make a move on her. If you don't your just going to keep living your sad, single life." Natsu tells his friend.
"I know" Gray sighs, "but she hates me. If I even tried she would probably punch my lights out."

"Try something small, like pickup lines"
"Do you want me to die young?!"
"Oi! Lay off, I was just trying to help! Who shoved a stick up your ass this morning!?"
"Why you little-" and they began fighting. Meilin calmly walked over and picked up the both of them by their shirt/vest.

"Seriously? I just get here and this is how you act? Even when we're like seventeen you still act like your seven." She drops them on their butts.

"Hey! Take that back! Fire Dragon Iron-" Meilin jumped, grabbing Natsu's vest and using her momentum to back slam him into the ground again. He sat up and she ruffled his hair.
"Good to see you too Natsu. I was wondering when you were going to do that." She smiles at him, Natsu grinned and got to his feet.
