OK, I know I just wrote a Jaime Reyes x reader one shot, but it kinda sucked and I want to write another one because the prompt is kinda something that's going on right now with me (except my lonely ass ain't got a boyfriend)
Third person P.O.V
"As you know this year is very competitive with all the submissions we've received so we cannot accept you this year for our program. But we will put you on our waitlist" the voice on the other line says.
"Yes, I understand, thank you for letting me know" you answer. Already feeling the quivering of you lip and the constriction of your throat signaling the fact that you were going to cry. The voice hung up and you put the phone down. Going to your room, you shed a few tears but kept yourself together. You applied to be a C.I.T at your childhood camp. You did everything right. You memorized your answers on your application sheet. You dressed up, but not too fancy and you showed up early. You went to this camp every year with your two friends Jaime and Tye. You guys all joked around about being C.I.Ts there and how awesome it would be. Together. It wanted to make you cry some more for the fact that you wouldn't be going with them. You grabbed your phone and earbuds and sat on your roof. Watching the stars in the sky and trying to calm yourself down. You would have to tell them at some point. After all their wait-list was super long, you highly doubted you would be apart of the camp at all. And you had to wait until freshman year of college before you could apply to be a counselor. When it began to get chilly you went back inside and crashed on your bed. You sighed and looked at your clock. Just how the hell were you going to tell Tye and Jaime the news?
-Timeskip-
You went to school and did your best to avoid your two friends. Not ready to face them yet. Jaime was easier to avoid because he's been very distracted lately. With all the mumbling to himself, you didn't think he was weird because of that. Everyone talks to themselves sometimes. Tye, however, was much harder. The only way you still successfully avoided him was the crowds in the halls. You could tell your friends were concerned for you after your second day of avoidance. Jaime, however, knew something was wrong, and he intended to find out what it was.-Timeskip-
You were sitting on your roof again. Your tears already ran dry and you were just lying there. Because you were listening to music you didn't hear or see Blue Beetle landing on the roof next to you. But, a voice pulled you out of your music.
"The stars are pretty clear tonight, aren't they?" Your head snapped to the side and you saw the familiar black and blue of Blue Beetle. He flashed a white grin that stood out from his black and blue mask. You jumped back a few feet. Ripping out your earbuds.
"What-How-When- What?!" You shouted, shocked. How the hell did frickin' Blue Beetle get on your roof without you knowing?
"Sorry hermosa, I thought you heard me" he apologizes. You blushed lightly at the nickname he gave you.
"I-It's fine, I should've been paying more attention. With a world like this you should be prepared in case if a cute superhero decides to land on your roof" you just realized what you said and blushed a little bit more. Did you just say cute? Blue Beetle laughed and your heart skipped a beat. His laugh was just so...adorable.
"So...um...if you don't mind me asking, why did you land on my roof?" You ask quietly.
"Well I was doing my regular patrol when I saw you, you seemed to be upset. I was wondering why" Blue Beetle answers, like it was no big deal.
"It's nothing" you mutter, looking in the other direction.
"Are you sure?" He asks.
"It might be something..." you trail off, pulling your knees up to your chest.
