Neji Hyuuga Headcanons

-You never really officially 'met' until you became a squad

-Neji was pretty cold with you at first

-You tried to at least get along for the sake of the mission

-He seemed to respect your reasoning but was still distant

-You guys got along kinda sorta well during missions

-He didn't actually start warming up to you until like, six months since you've become Genin

-It's about the same time he became friends with Ten-ten too, sooo....

-You call him: Goody Two-Shoes, Hi-uga, Robocop and Super-man ('cause of his x-ray vision)

-He doesn't really have a nickname for you but he does call you an idiot sometimes

-Neji doesn't know when he got feelings for you exactly

-He does know the day he got feelings for you tho

-It was a Tuesday in the early spring

-Gai-sensei insisted for you guys to take a break while he and Kakashi had one of their 'challenges'

-Ten-ten suggested flower crowns

-Neji was so ready to object

-"I um...I never made a flower crown before..."

"WHAT?!!? OK WE'RE MAKING FLOWER CROWNS!"

-Neji kinda wished you didn't open your mouth

-He was just meditating under a tree while you and Ten-Ten made flower crowns

-Lee was training, but then again Gai-sensei let him get away with extra training

-Neji got called several times to make flower crowns by both you and Ten-Ten

-He would simply deny it with his eyes closed

-As soon as Ten-Ten called Lee to make flower crowns he gladly joined you

-"Wow (Y/N)! You look so pretty with your flower crown! Doesn't she look pretty Neji?"

-Neji finally opened his eyes just to get Ten-Ten to stop bothering him

-You looked so beautiful and pure in that one moment

-The sun was shining on you and some flower petals escaped your crown, blowing around you

-Neji felt himself start to get nervous

-"...it's nice..." was all he muttered as he looked away

-It was only later when Neji did some self-reflection and realized his feelings for you

-You've always kinda liked him since you first became a squad

-His sense of duty was always something you admired

-Neji believed that it was best for him to ask you out right away

-There was no point in silently pining over you

-Especially when he had a good chance of you being with him now

-Neji kept trying to find ways to tell you how he felt

-There was always a distraction

-It was usually Lee who wanted to challenge either one of you to a fight

-Eventually he realized he was going to need help to ask you out

-He wanted to do it privately so he wouldn't put you on the spot
