Karma x Reader- Soulmate AU- The Black Spot

Requested by littleone4ever for their sister's birthday, Happy birthday dude! 

You looked in the mirror for probably the thousandth time, even though you've lived for years without the black spot that all soulmates have you still couldn't believe it, a part of you was still in denial. Not having a soulmate was almost unheard of, yet here you were. Once you confirmed that there was no new soulmate markings on your skin you sighed and put on your school uniform, except you wore pants instead of a mini skirt, which was one of the reasons why you were put into Class-E. Once you got your outfit on you went out the door, since your house was close to your school you always walk to school, or skateboard, depending on your mood. Today you opted for walking to school, tall and proud through the main campus before hiking up the hill.

"Hey Nakamura! Wait up!"
"Hey (Y/N)! What? No board today?"
"Eh, just didn't feel like it that's all" you shrug.

"Too bad, I was hoping to see some of your moves, it's funny how bad Koro-sensei freaks out"
"Yeah, it is, but I just didn't feel like it today that's all"
"Got the Soulmate blues again?"
"Yeah, sorta" you sigh.
"Hey, you'll find that special someone someday"

"You think so?"
"I do"
"Thanks Nakamura, that makes me feel a little better"
"Aww, hey check it out, it's Nagisa and Kayano being cute. They're absolutely adorable together!" Nakamura fangirls, Nagisa and Kayano were discovered soulmates the first time they met and have been dating ever since. While every class in Kunigigoa had at least five discovered soulmate couples, your class only had one, another thing classes A-D could hold over you. You walked into class, seeing Karma sitting on his desk and trying new knife tricks. Karma Akabane, probably the most cold-blooded out of all of you yet you fell for him...oh god did you fall for him. At first it was just his good looks but something else attracted you to him, maybe it was the way he stared at the sky when nobody was watching or the teasing comments that may sound hurtful but actually are a way of him showing that he cares. Whatever it was you fell for him, but there was one problem, he already had a soulmate. You could see the black all over his hands, it went from the tip of his middle finger to the first quarter of his actual hand, his thumb was also covered in black to, though it didn't reach his hand. You hoped that whoever his soulmate was they would make him happy, you didn't want to get in the way of that happiness, so for now you would be his friend. Being in the prescence of Karma made you feel both dead and alive at the same time. You took your seat next to Karma.
"Hey (Y/N)" Karma greeted you.

"Hey Karma" you sigh.

"Aw, is something bugging you?" He questions, and while his voice was teasing you could tell that he actually did care.

"Just some soulmate blues, it's fine though..." you sigh.

"Well I'm sure you'll find someone" Karma answers, his knife balanced on his nose with his feet on his desk and his chair tipping.

"You think so?" You ask him, his golden eyes slid over to yours, he grinned in a both scary and reassuring way.

"Of course, the universe has a plan for everyone, and fate makes sure those plans are actually saw through," Karma's voice was nonchalant like he was explaining something very obvious to you, you smiled.

"Thanks Karma, why can't the world have more people like you?"
"If there were more people like me, the human race would've beaten Fate in hand to hand combat already" Karma answers, which made you laugh a little.
"What? Is something funny?"
"Did you steal that from a meme on tumblr?"
"No, I made that up, what's the Tumblr variant?"

"I think it's something like, if God didn't give me depression I would've bested him at hand to hand combat by the age of 16"
"Huh, sounds like there are people in the world like me" Karma grins.
