Leo x Amazonian! Reader [Drabble]

You looked around the newly constructed ballroom from a corner of the room, Thundera was shaping up to be quite the city and it was always nice to see the animals that landed on your planet get along. Especially with smiles on their faces instead of their usual gloom caused by the ones they lost in the crash. Your Queen had been struck with a minor illness that many of your people faced in their lifetimes and while it was a non-fatal illness she still was not fit to join in the merriment of the newly devised civilization for at least the first day or two. This celebration of Thundera's construction and success was to last a full week. You wished your Queen at least sent you here with some of your Amazonian sisters to keep you company. Leo disappeared a few minutes ago and Panthera was talking to some of her fellow soldiers and you didn't want to be a bother. You tugged at the heavy garrment that practically constricted your neck, since Amazonian parties are more...intense...you only really needed armor. And while everyone was dressed in some form of a gown or a suit, you had your ceremonial armor which was only used for pretty much two days of the whole year.

"(Y/N), I'm glad to see that you could make it, but where is the Queen? I thought she would be attending." Leo walked over to you and you were grateful for the distraction from your uncomfortable armor.

"She will but it seems that Her Majesty was victim to a minor sickness, she should be back on her feet by the middle of the festivities."

"Ah, I see. Well if you see Her Majesty before I do please tell her that I'm terribly sorry for her illness and if Thundera can provide anything to help make her recovery easier then we will."
"I'll see what I can do" you smiled at Leo and he smiled back.

"Y'know you don't have to be so formal with me, we're friends after all" Leo told you as he leaned back on the wall next to you.

"Yes, but we're in the public eye now and you are their ruler. To uphold your image I must be formal with you."
"My image? I defeated Mumm-ra and led the construction of Thundera, I think you being informal with me won't make everyone want to throw a revolution against me."
"You never know, people get annoyed at the weirdest notions sometimes"
"Not my people" Leo stared at his crowd of subjects with adoration and his statement had a hint of pride in it, your smile got a little wider. When Leo finally snapped out of his daze he turned his attention back to you.

"Is that new armor?" Leo asked, tilting his head a little.

"This? No. Amazonians have never seen a need for dresses or suits before, so our Queen decided that our ceremonial armor should be fitting for this event."
"Well it looks nice. Would you like to dance? You know, to keep up my image?" He teased, you rolled your eyes with a small smile on your face.

"I would be happy to Your Highness" you did a small curtsy as you both walked to the dance floor.

"I apologize if I make any mistakes but I'm not very familiar with dancing"
"Well it's just like doing a battle move, you'll get the hang of it after the first few minutes" Leo smiled at you and you smiled right back as he led you through the dance steps. And despite the first few steps where you would accidentally step on his feet it was actually quite enjoyable.

"Lord Leo, we have some issues that need to be discussed" one of the clerics spoke.

"Excuse me (Y/N), hopefully this won't take too long, perhaps when I come back we can finish our dance?" You smiled and gave him a nod.

"Yes, of course" Leo walked away and you left the dancefloor, going back to your position to watch the party from a distance. Your lips curved into a small smile as you thought of your brief time with Leo.

"Leo likes you, you know. He was obviously trying to struggle to flirt with you." you almost jumped at the voice.

"Panthera geez you scared me, and he was just helping me with my dancing and party-going skills"
"So there wasn't even a little flirting involved, hm?" Panthera questioned with a little smugness

"Ok, perhaps there was a little flirting, but it was just flirting, nothing more"

"Oh I've seen him flirt before first hand, this wasn't that"
"Panthera! Over here!"
"Excuse me-"
"W...wait, what do you mean first hand?" You ask, grabbing Panthera by the forearm, Panthera smiled.
"You have nothing to worry about, except perhaps being the first Queen of Thundera" Panthera smiled with a small wink.

"Yeah right, that's never gonna happen" you rolled your eyes.
"You never know, the future isn't set in stone" Panthera told you before going to talk with her fellow soldiers who were enjoying their day off. You rolled your eyes one more time.
"Queen of Thundera, please. Yeah, right." You scoffed as you scanned the many delicacies that were prepared for this very event.

-Meanwhile-

"Lord Leo, it has been a year since the first brick has been laid in the construction of our city. There are whispers among our people about how Thundera needs a strong monarchy now." Leo turned to the Head Cleric in puzzlement.

"What are you talking about?"
"You have gotten to know Thundera and it's people over this past year greatly. There are many young women who would make excellent wives, to put it blatantly, just pick a future wife to settle with!" They were on a railing/balcony above the ballroom, it offered privacy from the crowd below. The Head Cleric gestured down to the large crowd and Leo approached the railing, scanning the crowd until he found you. You noticed his staring and waved, he held up a hand in a half-wave before you walked away. His gaze softened with a small smile on his face.

"I already have" he smiled before turning to the cleric.

"Now if you excuse me I have a dance to finish"
