Many family members have their thing with other family members. It may take the form of a tradition or a simple inside joke but you'll find them in most family types. This thing that these family members do can be something they only do with one person or a lot of people once they consider you family despite not being connected through blood. You normally find that this thing, when done by someone else, doesn't work for some reason or other. Everybody could do this thing but it wouldn't be the same.

Today's story is going to be about this thing that Wonder Woman, Wonder Girl and Nightwing all do. They only do it to one another and if anybody else did it, well, that would just be plain weird. So strap yourself in and get ready for a semi-short story on a mannerism I made up for little to no reason other than making fanfic about it one day. Enjoy.

The mannerism began at the Watchtower when Dick was still Robin and still the only kid hero around. Due to this fact, heroes tended to get a little jealous when he took a liking to one of them in particular. Of course, this liking changed from time to time as anything and everything does when you grow up.

This time his liking fell upon Flash. It had lasted for a few weeks or so and Flash had started a small thing only he and Robin did. Every time they greeted one another, Flash would lightly punch the younger's shoulder. It was their special thing. Everybody knew it was their thing. Wonder Woman knew it yet that didn't stop her from trying to copy it to achieve the same results. She'd bided her time until Robin's liking fell upon her and, seeing as it hadn't yet, she decided to speed up the process. Surely if she copied something that had brought the heroes so close together then she'd be next on the list.

"Hi, Wonder Woman!" Robin greeted with a grin. He tended to wear a grin come rain or shine. It was his signature look. That and the face he made when he was mad. Now that was downright adorable no matter how angry he was which would only make him angrier and storm off to pout somewhere until someone assured him he was very intimidating.

"Greetings Robin," she replied, sharing a smile with him. She should do the thing now. He didn't suspect she'd do the thing and she completely forgot the natural power of her punches. This combination, as you may have thought to yourself, couldn't make this situation end well. She pulled back and punched Robin's arm lightly. Or so she thought.

Her fist made contact with his arm and sent him flying onto his side. Robin didn't cry, thank the Gods, but he was surprised beyond belief. His eyes were the size of bowling balls he was that surprised by what happened. He gripped his arm, breathing through gritted teeth, and glanced up at a rather shocked Amazonian warrior. There was a small pit of fear in his stomach too.

"I'm so sorry Robin," she apologized quickly. She was silently thankful that he hadn't yelled out in pain and alerted someone to what happened. That would be a one-way ticket into Batman's bad books and nobody wanted to be on his bad books.
