Just some protective Jason for y'all

Also, would Jason still have black hair in the reverse au? I'm sure there was one comic line that said he was ginger and Bruce made him dye his hair black so nobody noticed the change in Robins. Maybe that was in the old run of comics...

EDIT: I feel like he'd still have black hair in reverse because both Damian and Tim have black hair so it would make sense to keep it black

Dick took the rule of 'no fighting outside of training and missions' very seriously. Partially because Bruce made it so important, insisting that it was a slippery slope to either someone finding out who they were or losing themselves. The skills he taught were for work and nothing more. They were meant to put away hardened criminals not to show off against someone who annoyed you on an already bad day.

Dick made sure that he acted like any other kid his age would and hid any chance of them seeing his prowess in fighting. It started off with him purposely losing if someone asked for an arm wrestle. He could easily beat them, vigilante or not, since being an acrobat gave him a lot more muscle than his peers but he decided to play it safe and lose.

Then he wouldn't say a word if someone pushed into him for a laugh. He didn't want to give them the satisfaction of getting under their skin and instead took the time to steady himself. He'd breathe in and let his anger go as best as he could. Maybe he'd work out in the gym more when he got home to get out anything left over but he didn't dare to let it loose at school. He'd hoped that his pacifism would've read as boring to most. Bullies want a reaction most of the time or want someone to fight them to get through their own anger issues.

His passive response made the minority of bullies notice him. The ones who wanted to pick on someone below them not for some reason that could be worked out in therapy but rather because it was just funny to do so. This group would make snide comments about everyone but picked their targets carefully to avoid a visit with the principal or face expulsion. They needed someone smaller than them, outcasted and all around unlikely to breathe a word of their behaviour.

The group was made up of three boys, Elliot Bench, Mason Hunt, and John Trench. All of them had families well known to Gotham's upper class, giving them the feeling of being above anyone not born into their society as well as those who worked hard to join it. They were old money, rich for generations prior and many more to come.

They had previously forgone going after him and voicing their distaste for him, fearing that he would blab to a teacher who would then contact their parents who may seek a new punishment other than restricting their Xbox privileges. So, after performing a few test runs of hurting Dick and getting away with it, they fearlessly pushed him around. They supposed they got a kick out of it, literally,  and it gave them a special type of glee to hurt someone who would never fight back nor tell anyone of their deeds. A human punching bag. They thought they would never receive any repercussions for their actions due to the famous childish cockiness they possessed. That was until Jason saw what they were doing to his little brother.
