Just Robin Oneshots Part 2

Bamboozling

Nightwingwriter sorry it took so long!

Walking through Gotham you see some wild things. You could see a clown plant explosives, a plant crush a building, a half man half crocodile crawl out from the sewers and catch a guy dressed as a bat beat criminals up. Those were just daily occurrences but there were things that didn't sound too outrageous in comparison but just as devastating to see. Artemis saw one of these sights on her way to the zeta tube. She didn't have very much going on and thought she may as well see if anyone was at the Mountain. As she walked through the city, she spotted Wally. He was sitting outside a cafe checking his phone which was kind of weird considering the cafe was one of those really posh ones. She didn't think he had expensive tastes. Especially with how much it would cost to feed him. She shrugged to herself and began to walk over in hopes of snacking on whatever he left behind when the empty chair in front of his was suddenly filled. She raised an eyebrow and hid down an alleyway, peaking out to make sure she saw what she saw. "No way." Right there was Dick Grayson! Oh, Wally was so getting it for this. Hanging out with a posh kid like that. He was probably a lackey for the richest kid in Gotham. She moved a bit closer to hear what they were saying and just about caught the conversation. "Thanks for taking me out. I couldn't stand doing revision all day," Wally began, sipping the milkshake Dick must've bought him.  

"No problem. To be honest, I needed to get out. It's just so suffocating at home sometimes," Dick replied. The ginger reached across and took his hand. Okay, that's not what Artemis expected but it hadn't crossed the line. She wondered if Robin knew how close his boyfriend was with Dick. She pulled out her phone, ready to film, just in case.

They continued with light chatter about school and the like. It was honestly super boring. Artemis was just about to jack it in and walk away when she heard flirting. Oh, this totally wasn't a friendship. She never pegged Wally as a cheater but he was quite a flirt. She pulled out her phone and began to film. Maybe Robin was already aware of this. The guy knew everything and anything but on the off case he didn't, she could make him aware. Things might be a little awkward on missions but this wasn't fair. It would go against every bone in her body to keep it under wraps. As she began filming, Dick started to blush harshly whilst Wally moved in closer. They moved closer and closer until they shared a shy kiss. She gasped and stopped recording. Her blood was boiling. She just wanted to go over there and slap that cheater across the face. Did Dick know he was taken? He probably didn't know him as Kid Flash so he wouldn't know his relationship with Robin. Still, she couldn't be sure of it. She decided not to go over there and confront him. This was a fancy cafe they were sat in and she'd probably be dragged away by security before she could even get a word in because she was too poor. She'd tell Robin when he came in for a mission. He'd be devastated of course but she had to do it. What kind of friend wouldn't?

Robin appeared in the Zetatube and was suddenly pulled aside by the blonde archer. He raised an eyebrow at her before she shoved her phone in his face with a video playing. "You need to see this," Artemis stated.

"I'm looking at pixels right now, you might wanna pull it back a bit," he replied. She pulled it back and he took her phone in his hands carefully. The video was of...fuck. Did she know who he was? No, that couldn't be. What was she trying to show with this? Was it blackmail? It couldn't be because everyone knew they were dating. Then why did she have it? "Uhm, what am I supposed to be seeing here?" he inquired. She stared at him with a dumbfounded look. 

"I don't know Robin. Maybe at the fact, your boyfriend is kissing Dick Grayson!" she exclaimed. "He's cheating on you with that billionaire brat." Okay rude but it could be worse. She could've found out him and that billionaire brat was the same person. However, he had a new problem now. How was he going to convince Artemis things were fine? Come on improv skills, kick in! "Trust me, he's not cheating."

"But he clearly is. He's kissing someone on the lips who isn't you," she argued.

"It's not how it looks." She looked at him curiously and pocketed her phone, prompting him to explain himself. He sighed. Alright, he'd have to go with plan B if she wasn't going to leave it. "Fine. You're making me say it. Dick, myself and Wally are together. All of us." Artemis went slack-jawed before recollecting herself. "We weren't going to tell anyone because people always get arsey about poly couples." He folded his arms and tried to look as dejected as possible to really sell the lie. It must've worked as Artemis immediately looked guilty for bringing the subject up in the first place. "I didn't know. I'm sorry."

"It's alright, you didn't know. You should give Dick a chance you know? He's not that bad," he replied. He may as well hype himself up whilst he was lying. There was no harm in it. 

"I guess if you two are dating him I should attempt to like him," she answered. He cackled lightly to himself about the absurdness of it all. 

"I appreciate the effort."

Many years later

Finally, today was the day he was going to do. He held Wally's hand tightly and walked into the common room. Two years of knowing these people and he was finally ready to tell them who he really was. It was exciting but his habit of hiding who he was going to be hard to get rid of. Though, that didn't matter. He'd finally got the go-ahead and he wasn't going to waste his chance. The team glanced at him when he first walked in with nothing covering his eyes. They did a double-take when they realized there was something different. "I thought since we've known each other for a while, I should introduce myself properly," he announced with a bright smile. He could already feel the weight lifting off his shoulders and his boyfriend was right there beside him to support him. "I'm Richard Grayson but you can call me Dick."

"I'VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED!" Artemis yelled. 

Okay I have one last request to do before I have to start working on the 12 Days stories which is probably when I drop off for a little bit. If I can, I will post either on this book or he's a child again or gotham by streetlight. If I can't then uhh I won't so yeah.
