"Why do you not listen to me, Y/N?" Elijah was going on and on about how he told me to stay at home while everyone else in Mystic Falls were fighting.

"I'm a valuable asset, Elijah. I put up a good fight. And if I recall correctly, Rebekah would be dead if I had followed your orders." I tested him. I tested his patience everyday.

Elijah pinches the bridge of his nose, "You are right but in doing so - Kai, the one that got away before I could kill him, Almost killed you. He had a stake and his arm drawn back. If Stefan hadn't seen, I would've lost you." He now faces me, "I cannot lose you. I cannot lose the one person I consider to be my soulmate."

"Elijah, I understand that but you can't expect me to sit in here and just wait for you to come back." I grabbed his hands and pleaded. I wanted him to bring me along.

"I know, I'm being selfish by asking you to stay here." He gave in.
