Jayden's POV

After training and lunch, I had to go and pack up my things in my room as well as my son's things.

But now that I was done, I couldn't help but think as I looked at the time on my phone.

"3:48pm. Nick and the others should be in the Neutral lands by now." I thought.

"Well, I hope he loses a limb or two when he gets back." I chuckled to myself.

"Oohh. That's dark." Ros mused.

"It's not like he doesn't deserve it." I reasoned.

" Oh, I ain't complaining. I for one hopes that he loses an eye. Or maybe he can go blind. Or maybe he'll get his tongue cut of if we're lucky."

"And you call me dark." I said.

A knock on the door then caught my attention.

And when I opened the door, I was surprised to see Rick standing outside.

"Councilman. Can I help you with something??" I asked her in a serious tone as I slightly closed the door so that he wouldn't see my packed bags for he didn't yet know of our plans to leave.

"Yes.. uh.. would it be okay for us to talk, Jayden??" I stared at him for a few seconds before nodding my head.

"Lets talk somewhere more private then." He nodded.

"We can talk in my office then."

Closing the door to my room, I went on to follow him towards his office in silence.

When we finally reached it, I sat down on a vacant chair which was right in front of his desk while he took his seat behind it.

"Now what was it you wanted to talk about, Councilman??" I asked.

By the look on his face, I could see the unsureness when made me curious as to why he would be. What would he want to talk about??

"Jayden, I wanted to personally apologize to you." He finally said.

"Why?? You didn't do anything."

Literally.

"That's exactly why." He said, and I raised my brow. "I hadn't really been helping you when it came to Nick in his push to punish you with regards to what happened with the warriors and... I also didn't help you im the time of our meeting with Nick. When you didn't agree with his plan on attacking."

"I knew that you would want nothing but to help. And I am sorry for not trusting in that." I was silent for a while as I sucked in what he had said.

And as I looked at him in the eyes, I got up from my seat. "I understand why you did it councilman. You did what you had to do. But with regards to Nick's decision into attacking well..."

I then turned to leave but stopped and looked back after opening the door.

"I hope you can all deal with the consequences."

3rd person's POV

In the darkness of the woods, Alpha Nick and a huge number of wolves silently stalk through, going towards the location where they thought laid Marcus's camp.

"How long till we get to the camp??" One of the alphas asked Nick who led them through the forest.

"Not long now. Tell the warriors to ready themselves." Nick instructed.

"These forests are eeriely quiet. Alpha Nick, I have a bad feeling about this." His beta said as he looked around the dark forest. "I feel like I'm being watched."
